I’m bringing my iPhone gimble to take steady shots and a power bank so I can keep my phone charged while on the road. Gonna buy those mosquito bracelets you wear on your arm that will save you some dough on buying cans of spray!

My concern with iPhone is I've only got 16GB space?

was going to buy go pro but it pretty expensive tbh 399.00

Bupa Global Travel said that storm chasing is fine as it is not on their list of exclusion. So I got their single trip medical cover for the duration of the tour on top of my normal travel insurance.

Do you have their phone Number as I tried emailing I not got a response??

    Thanks

    Hey up,

Are you on the 1440 from LHR to DEN on 11 June by any chances? It will be a fantastic trip, been every year since 2015 and such an amazing group of people to chase with, always on the money when chasing!

    Cheers,

    Mike.

Yeah 11th june LHR to DEN BA at 1440pm and then on to days in hotel on tower road, then back 23rd june on BA flight at 1935

I cannot get a Dog Tag insurance as I am not an UK resident but I will try to bug some local insurance companies that offer "extreme sports" insurances to see if they would also cover "storm chasing".

I bought the comprehensive travel insurance when booking my flight to cover the normal, flight, cancellations, medical risks and I will be in the look out to complete is with something else.

I was informed you cannot have 2 insurances as it invalidates both the insurances,  so i am looking at just getting fully comprehensive to cover everything else and one illness!

Hi Newbie! Graham here!  You are lucky enough to have me as one of the team drivers for tour 4!

although its not compulsory, we always recommend coming in a day before the tour starts, this is mainly for 2 reasons:

1 reason and most important, if there is a risk on the first day of the chase/changeover day then we could be on for a bonus chase day, if we are all ready to go the day before we can saddle up the horses and gallop along the highways!

2 if there are any delays to flights, the extra days grace doesn't put any pressure on guests making sure that they do not hold up the tours! sounds horrendous putting it that way but its the easiest to explain!

the extra day does allow to meet up with fellow chasers on the tour and of course enjoy a beverage or two the night before!

as for hotels, Tower Road is literally a row of hotels! loads of them. the Days inn is the popular one with our tours and you will more than likely be with the rest of the team here! plus its closer to the bar!

let me know if your on Facebook we can also connect on there!

Hi Graham - Have booked into The Days inn hotel for the night on the 11th of june,

I am on facebook - who isnt! search for abraybrook85@hotmail.co.uk should bring me up easily i hope!

cant wait for this it be an experience and a half!  totally Excited

Insurance co.s look at cases and risk assess; after all that is what insurance co.s do - balance between risk and safety.

Re your existent condition if it still is a condition, even though as you say you've "been stable" they will still regard it as a "condition" for insurance purposes.

Someone else mentioned annual cover. I've used annual multi-trip for years but you must, and i stress must, inform the co if there are any changes to your health during that 12-month period or suddenly you begin treatment for a medical condition after you've purchased an annual policy. Dont assume an annual policy covers you, in full, for a whole year.

Travel insurance policies linked to bank accounts (freebie policy with some current accounts) are often basic policies; read the small print. Does it cover for trips outside of Europe, for example.

And on another point, some policies now exclude countries you might think are automatically included. Mexico is a classic example; a popular UK visitor haunt esp for All Incl. But some co.s are NOT covering for Mexico. And here's a surprise one in "no longer covered"........

    The Canary Islands.

No joke. Some travel ins co.s wont cover for The Canaries because docs on some of the islands send sick tourists to private hospitals on the islands.

Great Essay and my condition medication hasnt changed at all in 5+ years I dont even see a specialist anymore, Meh

Normal travel insurance often doesn't cover storm chasing though, not sure if it's any different with insurance included with financial services.

Can you recommend a different company than dog tag ?? for some reason they wont cover for pre existent condition though been stable for 5+ years - tbh its ridiculous.

  11. I know i did check but prob worth the extra 300, just thinking staying the day before and i do tend to suffer with jet lag so spending a day before touring maybe the best choice tbh!

And not been flying for a while and hottest temperature i used to is 25 LOL
