Yeah we have a flood alert now for Halesworth/holton area. Not seeing any reports of power out here in Halesworth, having said that, my power will likely go bye bye
Should be some interesting images/videos of local flooding on social media this afternoon. Power-cuts link -

16 miles from lowie, roads impassable round villages here, rain coming down off fields too has raised the levels of the roads, travel to lowie in the morning, as I do twice daily week days for sons school, will be fun, may need a boat!
It's been quite an event here. The rain i still coming down in stair-rods...... I dread to think what's going on locally in low-lying areas.
Recent tweets from Suffolk & Norfolk Fire & Rescue say they are inundated with calls and for people not to call 999. Beccles train station has also closed due to a large sink hole. There are also widespread power-cuts in Southwold & Halesworth.
This will go down as a historic rainfall event for these parts.

This is 40 miles west of Lowestoft. The rain is still teaming down here, I really feel for those living in low lying areas today.

This rainfall is off the scale!!!! It's been like a prolonged thunderstorm for hours.........everywhere going under water! Drains pumping out, roads that don't flood are flooded.......memorable event happening here!

The rainfall has been relentless since 03:00 and it's now like a monsoon......... going to be major flooding problems around these areas later.

Fantastic storm recently in Kessingland near Southwold. I have footage of two funnel clouds on video spawning as the storm rapidly approached. Rainfall was absolutely torrential with CG lightning.
I watched this cell develop rapidly on the radar over Ipswich/Clacton earlier this evening then just knew this one would be special and heading straight towards me. What a start to the night!!!!

A good link here for the storm chasers among us. Distant skyline looking threatening with base-hunters

Thought I'd pop in.
Stay warm in the midlands.
It's perishing here

I loved this memorable event yesterday, today it's wearing thin. So much so I have drunk copious amounts red wine and I know it
To see the models potentially prolong this cold well into March is not great news.
As you can see it's taking it's toll

I'm in yarmouth and your in lowestoft does it look like this may clip us now ?
Watching the radar with interest at the moment as there is a band of heavy snow branching out off the main band over Central/Northern France. I certainly think Kent, Essex, west Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire all in with a good chance later of some moderate/heavy snow (for a while).
I took a walk down to the Sea front and it was absolutely perishing with snow covering all the beach. The sea was incredibly rough with foam blowing off the crashing waves onto the sand.

snowing lightly here, more snow falling and settling in the last couple of days than i have ever seen in the uk, i think this stretch of the coastline may be where they are warning 20cm may fall today.
I’m with you there Jenny, it’s an event here for sure. Hasn’t the wind picked up the last 30 minutes on the coast, really whipping the snow about now.

Thanks for putting these rainfall charts up Paul. They clearly illustrate why it was so flooded around Lowestoft yesterday! As you say, they start from 09:00 whereas the rain started heavy here at 03:00. An exceptional rainfall event here in the Waveney District!!
