[Looking for pure global temperature data]

Hey guys,

So I have basically been looking for a large data set of average temperature by month, per country, for the whole world.

I have only found websites which help on a case by case basis, but no pure data to help me.

Excel spreadsheets are my primary data keeping format but I would love anything you have! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
