  1. Looks more like torrential frontal rain to me? Perhaps some lightning embedded initially...
  2. Loving Dan Holley's placement of the MDT risk zone, and his mention of models being too far west quite often rings true. 27-28th May 2017 was like that, looked to be a dorset destroyer but became a Sussex smashing MCS in the end!
  3. Probably indicative of low end potential, but it's nice to be talking about this sort of thing in Early April! Lets see how we do
  4. Fine by me, haha! But honestly it would be nice for Western/Central Southern areas to score big this year, you guys deserve it!
  5. Very odd cell, popped out of nowhere and is surprisingly prolific lightning wise
  6. A pleasant surprise in the form of distant flashes and a single rumble here in Bexhill- wasn't expecting a low end set up to deliver quite as much as this!
  7. Some unexpected lightning in the channel... shame I wasn't looking at the time!
  8. Well in my eyes the red warning for Bexhill was wholly justified. A very potent storm indeed for these parts, There were a couple of gusts just before 12:00 that felt as if they were approaching 80mph! It was interesting to note the 'stop and start' nature of the storm, particularly early on. High tide was at 12:30, so just after what I considered to be the peak. The waves were very large and the swell was quite something to behold! As you can see from the attached photos, there were numerous instances of noteworthy storm damage, the most attention worthy of which being the De La Warr Pavilion bandstand structure, which has been standing in place since 2004. Eunice made short work of it. This was certainly an event for the old weather journal, and an unexpected surprise from an otherwise turgid winter.

  10. Already seeing gusts of around 50mph in exposure in Bexhill
  11. The MO app tends to be rather conservative with wind gusts. rule of thumb is to add on a good 5-10mph
  12. Haha I know, just an unbelievable chart in isolation for so close to the time!!
  13. If THIS isn't red worthy, then I don't know what is quite frankly!
