So this is probably the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done.

As I have A LOT of time on my hands outside of work at the moment I’ve put together a little iMovie of our recent wintry spell of weather here in the NW.

The amounts of snow in Manchester have not been spectacular at all, only relatively small coverings of about 4-5cm on each occasion, bar Storm Christoph when we had slightly more. Buxton had a good covering on 4th December.

I’ve combined my love of weather/snow and electronic dance music and this is the result - any true snow lover will recognise the manic checking of the lamppost, radar and the wetterzentrale charts.

Seven snow events are shown in all. Two had troughs from the NE, three were Irish Sea snow showers, and the other was Storm Christoph. The Buxton event was low pressure sitting across central UK in a chilly NW’y airmass (this was more of an elevation event).

All the shots were taken in my local area of south Manchester, a few in Salford/Manchester city centre and the obvious ones in Buxton.

Anyway I hope at least somebody appreciates it as I’m going to look like a right pillock otherwise. Just wanted to capture the memory of this spell as we very rarely get snowy runs like this here.
