My younger son will be 27 on Thursday....and yes it snowed on the day he was born.
If my memory is correct it snowed on his 5th birthday.... (snowman cake) and playing outside in the snow.
Not much since then for the 7th, but we are only 8-10 miles from the English Channel, so it needs to be a Beast from the East to have any real effect.

Two queries from a new forum member.
1 - when I look at a topic, the old posts are first. Why isn't the newest post first, or am I doing something wrong? I would very likely look at more topics if not always faced with the oldest post.
2 What is SACRA? Not everyone knows everything - I would just like to know.
Thanks

Cold.... not really, but definitely cooler than usual in November. Night temps are getting lower. November used to be damp /foggy, but still over two thirds of the month left.

I would like the months to run true to form. In my childhood October was crisp and bright quite often. Now it is always too mild. We hardly get any frost over the winter months, which is seriously necessary for agriculture and gardeners alike. I am not a huge fan of snow, but cold is necessary, and I wouldn't object to a couple of snowy weeks.

Could someone explain to a southerner (10 miles from the E Channel) what this " snow" thing is?
