If you want plenty of winter sun, Aycliffe is the place to be. Lovely winter's crisp day, minus snow. I'll take this as a second offering.

Come on snow, anytime now would be nice. A slight covering in Aycliffe. Let's see what today brings fingers crossed

Streamers setting up now of the coast of Norway . We will benefit from these later. As for needing to be something special although not the severity of the beast ,this type of easterly is rare especially these days. This is a convective easterly with zero marginality. The first day of a easterly can be this and usually is. Everything else is there as soon as this cloud clears. Where get the most it a lottery but somewhere is our region will get hammered over the next few days I’m sure of that
If it doesn't happened soon, I will be getting hammered

Its rain and sleet from Stannington to Washington at the moment. A few light flakes every now and again.

The MOD is very biased towards regular posters. That's completely wrong.
On another note, where is all this snow melt in the future going to go? Rivers and becks are overwhelmed. We had the A19 shut for flooding and RTC's a plenty yesterday. It's a worry for low lying areas for sure.

Typical that Weardale Ski at St John's chapel is shut due to covid. It would of been excellent skiing this winter, and even better come the weekend and onwards. I've not seen Gav's video's for a while, but I do like them. He uses layman's terms and even I can understand them. I hopefully will be posting pictures from around the NE whilst at work. I'm 48 and feel like I'm 10 at the moment

I'm not worried, ok a little. For sure we will get snow in our region, but that front has sunk a little too far for my liking. We still have a few days to go mind.

Prozac needed for the southern folk in the model forum....jeez

Scary to think how this is going to pan out. A proper Snow event......for all of us!

Well, I'm on lates from friday for 3. Working for Highways England is very trying for us over winter. I'm normally the only fool on the road patrolling the A66 when it snows. Can't wait!!!!!!

It will be what it will be that's as much as I know. Some people on the model thread need to pick another hobby. The current one is taking years off their lives!

It just goes to show that forecasting is really difficult even with supercomputing. I thought this was going to be like 2018 a little, but no. I do think my area will get a little more these coming weeks.....but it's always 2 hrs away, then 6 hrs. On a plus side my colleagues have been digging cars and trucks out on the A66 and I'm on rest days. That's the only thing keeping me smiling today.
