My Davis VP2 console is still my favourite way to view the weather outside, because of how quickly it updates, particularly wind speeds. I have the console by my gaming/PC set up, so it's always in view. I also bought a cheap 10.1 inch tablet and made my own website template for it, so I can view my data at 5 second intervals. That sits in my porch and that gets viewed very often when having a coffee and a vape.

The new console is ridiculously priced, but unfortunately, I like it to much not to buy  it. I'll put it by my desk in place of the current VP2 console, and move the old console to the porch.

I operate exactly the same just using my old VP2 Console  to view real time data which I have set up in the kitchen . The WeatherLink live is great for storing data with uploads every 5 seconds and I can view on my phone or ipad anywhere . I’m not really sure what if any benefit the new console would offer .

Been out in the 4x4 near 3 Cups ,Heathfield towing cars out all eve multiple accidents and up to 30 cars abandoned in the heavy snow , never seen anything like it . It has caught everyone out and this area like last night has been the sweet spot with over 5” tonight .

NOAA radar saying heavy snow will arrive on my doorstep at 9pm which to be fair is what the Meto have consistently forecast then 4-5 hours of heavy snow as the arm pivots

Heavy snow and laying in Heathfield

[Buying new weather station]

 

I’m looking at buy a new weather station, I had a Oregon WMR 100 which was very hit and miss and eventually died but I’m looking for something far more reliable and accurate that I can upload all the data to my Mac or PC . I have been toying with either the Davis Vantage cue or Pro 2 , most posting I read suggest those that bought the Vue wish they had the Pro 2 but both seem very good . Any help or advice that can help with my decision pros or cons

Still heavy snow in Punnetts town nr Heathfield its been coming down since 4.30 and probably have about 2'' a bit slushy on the main roads . Radar shows a real streamer on the go and we seemed to be in the sweet spot , if this freezes later Tomorrow morning will be a nightmare on the roads.
