They always get excited on the main model thread lol

There seems to be a pretty standard run through whenever the word snow is mentioned in the forecast. For my area, (NE23), yesterday was showing full on snow from Wed onwards. As of this morning, that's now shifted back to 'a bit of a wintry mix maybes on Friday'. It happens every time without fail, I have given up getting excited about snow predictions

Light shower here. Surprised, didn't think we would even see the edge of it. Or maybe we are......

Just driven back home along the coast from Tynemouth. Very odd coloured skies, clouds look full and heavy. Just started lightly snowing here.

Woke up to an inch or so (ooh err) baltic temperature, and will be very pretty when the sun comes up. Be nice to get more as it will easily lay. But it will no doubt be gone when the sun comes out. Still, picture postcard is nice for December the 1st

Everything seems to be dieing of death as soon as it hits land. When are we due the met warnings to materialise.
Dying of death. What else do things die of?

A 2 minute flurry about 9pm last night and nothing else. Forecast full of snow.

A good half an hour of heavy rumbles here, unusually with no breaks, continuous thunder, and torrential rain. Hopefully more to come.

Biblical rain here for the last hour or so, 1 rumble of thunder. Looks like massive fireworks Alnwick and slightly North, moving out to sea. We never get anything exciting these days

This is crazy. Yesterday we had 14 deg and torrential rain, now it's pelting it down with wet snow and the temperature is plummeting.

Sheffield and Leeds seem to be the hotshots.

Sky looked promising a couple of hours ago. Thought the powdery downpour was the start of proceedings. Unfortunately not. Grey damp and drizzle. A complete non event here.

Pretty heavy here for the last hour or so.

I know nothing about the technicalities of predicting weather. All I do know is that every time snow is predicted, it appears on the Netweather 7 day postcode forecast, starts slipping later into those 7 days, and then disappears altogether. As it just has done this afternoon

Looks like light snow just skirting us. Here's hoping.
