  1. Latest from the Met O.

    http://www.metoffice...ldweatheralert/

Rather confusing because the NAE suggests only W parts but the update above suggests snow will be more widespread across the S. Even E Anglia has snow forecasted but less accumulations.

Do you think Norfolk will get any as at the moment it looks unlikely and I have seen showers passing over my head on the radar all morning without anything materalising.

  2. Well if it doesn't happen now at least we know who to blame :p

Thats fine however I could just blame my daughter who has just got Chicken Pox, maybe she has delayed the snow until she is better so she can play in it......never underestimate the power of an 18 month old baby.

Some of the more experience people on the Confused/Off topicThread(Also known as The Model Discussion Thread) are predicting that we will have some nice snow this weekend so there is still hope yet.

Don't blame the Met Office for not issuing a Yellow warning yet, still way too much uncertainty about the set-up to put out that sort of warning.

Anyway NMM is suggesting a Wash Streamer develops, maybe a smidge north for most of this area on Thursday but the flow looks interesting. Wouldn't be surprised if several cms fall tomorrow eveing near the Wash.

Not blaming anyone its just that normally the Met Office are fairly prompt with warnings when there is any hint of a risk.
  3. Chris Fawkes just said on latest beeb forecast on N24 " significant snow moving into the East on Friday - with focus over our region :-)

He also confirmed big concerns for weekends snow. If the front doesn't pull away to the SE some very significant snow to come

I am surprised by this as normally the Met Office would give some kind of yellow warning a couple of days in advance of heavy snow. If it doesnt happen I think I may be to blame as I was fairly confident of heavy snow this week so I got a sledge for my daughter and I so maybe i Jinxed it. Doesnt seem to take a lot to change the daily outputs this week so maybe it was all me.
  4. GFS quite keen on developing a Wash Streamer type event in 72hrs time. Seems quite logical really looking at the flow and the deepening cold aloft.

I think the Met Office are going to be well caught out if they think this will be a dry flow...

Hopefully the Norwich Snow Shield will finally be battered down

Anyone going to have a go at a forecast for our region over the next few days with some idea of snow fall based on latest model outputs?
