  1. It's been very noticeable over the last few Mornings, how dark it still is, when I come downstairs just before 5 A.M.

It only seems a few Days ago when Daylight was streaming through our Bedroom window, at 3.30 A,M.

I wish somebody would tell the Weather it is now Autumn, though.

Here in S,.E. London, we've been plunged straight back into Summer.

You have my sympathies, I lived in London and the south coast for twenty years until the early 2000's. I found the humidity accompanying hot spells unbearable back then, I dread to think what's it like now?

    Evening, all fellow "heat haters."

I can tell you what it's like, w23. Bl---y awful here in S.E. London.

Below, are the recent recordings of temp./relative humidity/humidity index, at nearby London City Airport. Around 7 miles due North of here.

'Er indoors has recently had the Oven on, and both floors of our House, have become like a Sauna,

Have  got our Lounge fan on at full blast, and likewise will need our Bedroom fan on a high setting, to get any sort of sleep.

And likely to get worse, before it gets better.

Just viewed this Week ahead Forecast from Alex Deakin and it looks as if the Atlantic is going to take its time, to break through:

Hey there Tom! Hope you and your family are well 🙂

So far with August it seems that if we were to get some heat it would be a little easier to tolerate with the shortening days!

myself and my Partner sleep with our fan on constantly lol have done since 2018 we can’t sleep if it’s not cool plus we love the background noise, if it’s off now it’s eerily quiet and feels just wrong!

I hope your families abroad are safe and coping ok with the heat they are having!

The stickiness in the air is still present even if it’s cooler the house is very humid at the moment - I’m just waiting for the darker nights and the chill in the air that you need to be wrapped up in a duvet to sleep 😴

and as you said the fog!! We had amazing fog in 2020 it lasted for about 6 days i think very spooky 👻

Thanks Pewkzii, you sound very much like my wife Colette and myself, although we've only used one of our three Bedroom fans this Summer, we have another two on standby, should the heat get intolerable.

We've had to use all three in our tiny Bedroom at times, during the last 5 Summers!!

Very ironically, it was Colette's former Sister-in-Law that was responsible for the design of these  very poorly designed properties of the Housing Association, we rent from!!

I have to admit i am been loving this cooler weather.

The only thing i am missing is the chance of storms, the only thing i can tolerate a bit of heat from.

Although like @Tom Quintavallesaid above, we still have August to go and even September these days can throw in a few surprises.

    Still time for that heatwave.

Yes President Dami, it's been a very strange Summer down in our Region, hasn't it President?

June this Year had those record breaking temps, whereas last June was pretty cool to begin with and only started getting warm towards the end, and then those  horrendous heatwaves struck in July and August.

I've been pleasantly surprised by this July but as you state,  we've still got August and even September to get through, yet.

Still being Brontophobic by nature I've also been pleased with yet another Summer lacking in Thunder Days so far.

That's where you and I differ Dami but I must admit it must be very frustrating to be a Lightning/Thunder lover, certainly for about the last 5 Summers but from my perspective, I still have August and September to get through.

I commented a while ago, I think on our S.,E. Thread, we seem to be developing a Mediterranean style climate, here the majority of Thunder Days come, from the transition from Spring to Summer and at the other end, from Summer to Autumn.

That certainly was the case with those hot and dry mid Summer Months during the last 5 Years or so, until this July has bucked the trend.

Anyway, roll on Autumn and Lassie's October Fog Index!!

Well that’s me happy! I literally get filled with fear when I think about summer coming round i certainly was dreading this one after last year!

but it’s been perfect! I just read Markyo’s post in the summer thread about the light! I’m exactly the same - it’s to bright to early and lasts for seemingly forever!

I can not wait for the dark mornings and dark evenings proper! ☺️

    Afternoon all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, ell.

As a fully paid up member of President Dami's Heat Hater's Club, absolutely loving this July, .

But there is still August to get through, so not counting my chickens just yet!!

Feel sorry for my relatives in my Mum's Country of Italy but as far as I'm concerned the heat can stay over the South of Europe, for the rest of the Summer.

But myself and other close  Family members are worried about our extended Family.

The Sister-in-Law of my Sister lives in Corfu and has a Tourist business there with her Husband, who is a Native of Corfu.

Meanwhile, my Italian Cousin and her Family live in Catania in Sicily, close to Mount Etna.

After a few Days of mid 40's Centigrade, it's don to a more comfortable 30C, Today.

Meanwhile back in S.E. London, it still feels very "gloopy", this Afternoon.

Below, are the recent readings from nearby London City Airport, about 6 miles North of my location, as the Crow flies.

Even though the relative humidity is dropping, I'm still sitting in our Lounge with a fan on quite a high setting.

    image.thumb.png.8ce156d7d6282cc983b8c95e3a8297b8.png / image.thumb.png.ca02297d6c6fd75197e67b97b29780e1.png image.thumb.png.4f2c404b687febaaa35ac069c2d14ea2.png

Plus myself and my Wife have still needed to have our Bedroom fan on every Night so far, this Summer.

Our Housing Association property is very poorly designed in terms of comfort, during Summer.

Our Rooms are small with low ceilings and our Bedroom sits directly above our Kitchen.

We try and use our Cooker as little as possible during the Summer months. If we use it for any length of time, the heat soon rises up to the top floor of the House, making for a very uncomfortable Night's sleep.

My Wife and myself are totally with you PEWKZIL. We hate it when Summer comes around and can't wait for Autumn to get here!!

And our N.W. London diagonally opposite neighbour LASSIE23, never mind about Snow Lass, can't wait for the reappearance of the O.F.I. [October Fog Index].

  5. Afternoon all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, well.

It was such a relief last Night, to finally get a comfortable Sleep , after the high humidity of recent Nights.

I know the Met Office were slated on here, regarding what was seen as a poor Forecast for Rainfall, a while ago.

Being a fully paid up Member of Dami's "Heat Hater's" Club, I really do hope the Met Office are spot on with the last sentence in each of the following Long Range Forecasts, for the timescale quoted.

My dearly departed Mum's Country of Italy can keep the 40C+ heat, thank you very much.

    Roll on Autumn!!

    UK long range weather forecast

    Sunday 16 Jul - Tuesday 25 Jul

On Sunday, Persistent rain across the northeast should gradually ease. Elsewhere a mix of sunshine and showers, these most likely to be more frequent in the west. Some eastern and southern areas may stay dry. Showers are expected to be generally less intense or heavy than of late, although some heavier showers and thunderstorms still possible, mainly across the north. Winds moderate to fresh, locally strong and temperatures mostly rather cool. Later, low pressure to the northeast will draw cooler northwesterly winds across the UK, bringing sunshine and showers, possibly heavy and thundery, especially across the west. Often breezy, especially in the west and north. Temperatures a little below average for the time of year.

    Wednesday 26 Jul - Wednesday 9 Aug

Showery conditions most likely continuing, although perhaps winds moving round to the west to northwest. Most precipitation still in the form of showers although perhaps some longer spells of rain at times too. Temperatures likely to return closer to normal, although the chance of very warm or hot conditions looks to be lower than average.

    P.S.

Below, a very detailed explanation regarding thr Jet Stream, from Alex Deakin of the Met Office:

  6. A very good Morning all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, well.

It's been quite a while since I posted a Weather related item on my Home Regional Thread, so thought I would correct that now.

As was correctly Forecast yesterday, it was expected to feel humid again Overnight, with our Region finding itself in a Warm Sector, ahead of an approaching Cold Front, as can be seen on the Fax Chart for Midnight just gone, below:

    image.thumb.png.626e1f0db1951f1bbbfa645269d06e40.png

Below, are Meteociel graphs showing readings from nearby London City Airport, about 6 miles due North of Lee, as the Crow flies .

It certainly felt "gloopy" overnight, with Temps hovering between 19c and 20c.

I was rudely awoken by a strong gust of wind at around 3.45 A.M., which rattled our Bedroom blinds and blew the curtains around, through the open Bedroom window. I must admit my Brontophobic antenna went up, fearing a nearby Thunder scenario, as it was suggested that the Rain we were likely to experience, may be Thundery in nature

But I resisted the temptation to to turn my Mobile on and look at the Radar returns, as waking 'er indoors before she has had her required sleep, is akin to the Kraken stirring.

As you can see from the Vent [Wind] graph, the wind has been rising in the last few hours. Pressure has been gradually falling through the Overnight period, ahead of that advancing Cold Front.

    image.thumb.png.f860261cfc30b4f5776b6793486b2de3.png image.thumb.png.4ff780bc87e66c83063f657d3505b5a0.png /  image.thumb.png.87fb84037db3bbbbf41b342c3b7e5c77.png

As can be seen on the Meteociel chart below, "Pluie Faible" has been entering our Region, from the N.W.:

    image.thumb.png.c062381ca8db220ded02377f1d22a195.png

I seem to remember mentioning in the last few Years how we seem to be acquiring a Mediterranean type situation, with regard to the incidences of Thunder in our Region, during the Summer Months.

Having had an Italian Mum [R.I.P.], I'm fully conversant with Italian Weather during the Summer Months.

I've been amazed, although being Brontophobic by nature very pleased, at the lack of Thunder events in our Region, for about the past Five Summers. Just as happens in Italy, Thunder events have seemed to come during the transition from Spring to Summer and from Summer to Autumn, as happened in our Region last Summer.

Summers in Southern Italy tend to be hot and dry but with T/Storms forming along the spine of the narrow Italian Peninsular, where Sea Breezes from the Adriatic and Mediterranean, converge.

Then, whichever is the strongest out of those Sea Breezes, the Thundery activity will then transfer to either the Eastern or Western Plain, either side of the Apennine Mountain range, between the Mountain and the Adriatic/;Mediterranean.

Have seen that scenario played out a few times, when holidaying with my Italian relatives.

Regarding this Summer over here, I experienced a few Thunder events in May but since then, I don't think we've had much at all.

This is far removed to what I remember back as a Child/Teenager, back in the 1960's/'70's.

Back then, you could guarantee at least one very notable Thunder event, every Summer.

In fact it was a ferocious all Night Thunder event, that really triggered my Brontophobia back when I was Ten.

Speaking of my Italian Mum, it was her who unwittingly implanted the fear of Lightning/Thunder in me.

When Mum saw a flash of Lightning she would make the "Sign of the Cross" and call on Santa Barbara, the Patron Saint of Lightning and Storms in general, in Italy.

Back in early June 1966, Mum was a local Maternity Unit and about to give birth, to my youngest Sister and I was left in the care of my Father.

I can vividly remember that Friday Night of that, ferocious Brontophobia inducing Thunder event.

During the late Morning of Friday 10th June, we'd had a Games lesson at School and experienced a sudden heavy Shower, of very warm Rain. After School I can remember playing Football in a local Park and at one point looked up at the Sky and saw the shape of what looked line giant Bears, forming in the Sky. Perhaps these were Thunder heads, developing from Altocumulus Castellanus?

All hell broke lose at around Midnight that Night and the Thunder as still rumbling around at around 6 A.M.

Our local "rag" the Bromley & Kentish Times spoke of Three T/Storms "clashing" over Bromley, that Night.

That has all the hallmarks of an M.C.S, having visited Bromley, that Night.

Below, is the archived Synoptic chart for Midnight June 10th, 1966:

     image.thumb.png.36796e85b35b9ccce812f9444276336d.png

Looks pretty primed for a major Thundery breakdown, doesn't it? I'm sure those Thunder lovers out there would've loved this event, which was more than can be said, for Yours Truly.

Dad wasn't much of a help either and made me feel very uncomfortable about my frightened state, at one point calling me a "Sissy".

I'd often thought it was Dad that had caused my fear of Lightning/Thunder and it wasn't until a few Years ago, that it was Mum's reaction to Lightning, that had instilled the Brontophobia in me.

Back to the here and now. The Cold Front seems to have gone through and the Sun is starting to come out again.

Being a fully paid up member of Dami's "Heat Hater's" Club, I'm hoping that we've seen the "worst" of the heat, this Summer.

Synoptically, it has been a bit different to last Summer.

Last Year, June started on a relatively cool note, with High Pressure anchored close to the Azores, allowing an Atlantic influence to the flow, resulting in a coolish Westerly wind. It wasn't until very late in June, July and August, that High Pressure started to transfer N.E. and eventually settled to the East of the U.K., resulting in those July/August heatwaves of 2022.

As we are aware, this June as a record breaking Month, temperature wise.

For those  Members who like to get a comfortable Night's sleep, the Met Office Forecast for Tonight, will be music to their ears!!

    Tonight:

Showers quickly fading during the evening, leaving most places dry with clear spells, however some showers will linger across the north and west. Feeling a little fresher than Monday night.

But with still close to Seven Weeks of official Meteorological Summer left, I won't be celebrating just yet, from my stance as a "Heat-Hater" and a Brontophobe!!

    Good  Morning all,

As has been mentioned above, was expecting to have seen some rainfall by now but it seems to have moved a bit further North now, and may not amount to much, here in S.E. London.

    Below, is the latest Meteociel observation grpahic, showing the rainfall arriving in our Region;

Was listening to the Ashes Cricket on Test Match Special the other Day and hearing listeners sending in their Cricket related Limericks, gave me the idea to compose some of my own, for my Horse Racing Competition Thread.

Having seen DAMI's post, about finally getting a comfortable Night's sleep, I felt it only right to compose one  in tribute for the sterling work that she did on the HEAT HATER's Thread last Summer, as I'm a fully aid up Member of that Club. Thankfully, it has been derelict so far this Summer but I'm not celebrating, just yet.

    So, just for you Dami;

    Hi, mate.

I've seen your posts over the years and I can sympathise. I'm also someone who's health takes a turn for the worse in hot weather. Also like you, I'm in a council property that is very poorly designed. Bedrooms on the top floor of 3, and windows that open in such a way that I couldn't vent an exhaust hose from a portable ac unit out of the window. Not to mention the cost of running one.

The summer of 2018 nearly broke me. Being in the north west, we were subject to the worst temps from the easterly pattern that seemed to last forever. Fans helped, but at those temps, they're pretty much useless.

Hope you and your wife are okay through this muck.

    Evening all,

    Thanks for your comments, Frostillicus.

My Wife and myself have made a few changes in the last 5 Summers or so , due to the fierce heat we have experienced here in S.E. London.

Although we do have some greenery around us, it's also a bit of a concrete Jungle.

As others have said above, we also keep curtains closed when the Sun is shining on that side of our House.

Lounge curtains closed in the Morning, as that is East facing and the front of our House [Bedroom/Kitchen] faces West Kitchen blinds and Bedroom blinds/curtains are closed, in the Afternoon.

Also, during these Summer heatwaves my Wife uses our Oven, to a minimum.

I'm sure that will be the case this Summer and should limit that heat transference, to the top level of our House.

The Microwave comes into its own, and plenty of Salads will no doubt be on the Menu, during the next few Months.

As I've stated elsewhere on the Forum, Colette is a very versatile Cook and is very creative with her cooking.

If she is thinking of cooking any chicken or any other type of meat, she has vowed to do that in the Morning and serve it up cold with a Salad and perhaps a Microwaved Jacket Potato.

We were taking a lot of walking exercise last Summer but at one point changed our normal route, as it took in a local green space with a large area of grassland and woodland. We were concerned about the Wildfires that broke out in the suburbs of London, one of which wasn't that far away, from our House.

As you state above Frostillicus, like yourself, our House is very poorly designed and ironically was partially designed by Colette's ex- Sister-in-Law for the Housing Association, we rent from.

More people use their heating throughout the year, as opposed to air con to cool their homes down. This country is colder for longer during the year.

It doesn’t have to be 0c or below to qualify for cold, just because you think 5-10c is mild, when most people find that cold enough to need their heating on🤣

Who cares about that knob! Lol

    Morning all,

Hope I find yourselves and Families well and those Heat Haters amongst us are making preparations for what is about to occur.

I have to take issue with your first Sentence, Sunny76.

No offence but that is a very broad and sweeping statement to make?

In the past few Years, my Wife and myself have had to use Fans in both our Bedroom and Lounge much more, than our heating.

We are dreading this Summer and can't wait for Autumn to come.

We can't afford to own our own House and live in a Housing Association property, which is the most poorly designed you could imagine in terms of an ambient comfortable temperature, to live in.

Our Bedroom, also known as the "Black Hole of Kolkata", is miniscule and you'd have trouble swinging the proverbial cat in it!!

Our Bedroom lies directly above our Kitchen and when the Oven is in use, the hot air rises and finds its way on to the top level of our House, especially our Bedroom.

At times during the past few Summers, we've had 3 fans running throughout the Night just to cool the bedroom down sufficiently enough to sleep but still woke up, sweating buckets!!

Both my Wife and myself have health issues. My Wife has Fibromyalgia and has a low tolerance of heat.

I had a Stroke in 2015 and am on 3 different types of medication for Hypertension and since my Stroke, have also have a very low  tolerance to heat/humidity. In fact in the Summer of 2018 I had to attend the Urgent Care Dept. of our local Hospital in Sidcup.

My left ankle had swollen to twice the size of my right one and you could actually see fluid slopping about under the skin, on my left foot.

Although my B.P. reading was normal and I hadn't been out in the Sun, a Doctor at the Hospital said I was suffering from Heat Exhaustion, and due to that was retaining fluid. He also commented that you don't have had to been out in the Sun to became ill from that condition, especially if your property, is retaining heat and not cooling down sufficiently, at Night.

The Doctor advised me to keep my left ankle/foot raised up so it was slightly higher than my heart and keep well hydrated. Fortunately, when I returned home, heeding that advice my left ankle/foot soon returned to its normal size.

During the July heatwave of last Summer, after having my necessary Afternoon nap, our Bedroom temperature was still incredibly hot, even with 3 fans operating. On waking I sensed I was about to pass out and fortunately my Wife was soon on hand and got me to put my feet in tepid water, and sprayed me with cool/cold water. Fortunately my Wife's quick action, meant I soon recovered.

We really are dreading the next few Months, with energy prices still high.

Could I respectively suggest that perhaps those Members who like their Summers in the hot category, open their own "Heat Lovers Club" Thread.

This Thread pretty much does what it says on the tin, "Heat Haters Club 2023".

Personal opinions about heat/humidity, tend to be very subjective and linked to ones own personal preferences and no doubt their living conditions, and also their health.

"One Man's meat, is another Man's poison", springs to mind!!

As Captain S., Dami and S-MK state above, you can see that transition from Rain > Snow now taking place to the N. of London, as can be seen on the Meteociel charts, above.

.Just a little N. of here [London City Airport], the current temp. is around 5c with a Dew Point of 4c.

As Captain S., Dami and S-MK state above, you can see that transition from Rain > Snow now taking place to the N. of London, as can be seen on the Meteociel charts, above.

.Just a little N. of here [London City Airport], the current temp. is around 5c with a Dew Point of 4c.

The Rain has just turned a bit6 heavier and I'm keeping my eyes peeled and expecting a bit of wintriness, before it clears away later.

  15. Good Evening all,

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman here, non-playing Captain of Sammy Snowman Utd and along with I.T.V. [[Irrelevant Tactical Visions], hope yourselves and your Families are well and welcome to the final Evening, of Meteorological Winter.

I would now like to file a 2nd Half report, on the 2nd Leg Play-0ff, of the Winter Season 2022/23 decider.

Could contain: Stage, Group Performance, Music Band, Musician, Person, Concert, Adult, Male, Man, Blackboard - the Status Quo, pretty much remained unchanged from the 1st Half.

Using the preferred model for each "Team" the European E,C,M.W,F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy], and the American G,F.S, [Go Freeze Satan] , we can see below that nothing really changed in the 2nd Half, of the 2nd Leg Tie:

        E.C.M.W.F 500hPa 12z 28th Feb.           G.F.S. 500hPa 12z 28th Feb.

Could contain: Art, Modern Art, Person, Outdoors, Chart, Plot, Nature  Could contain: Chart, Plot, Person, Art, Modern Art, Outdoors, Nature

As in the1st Half, there were strong performances from both -

Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Nature, Outdoors, Snow, Snowman, Winter -  Greta the Greenland High, who again had just enough nous to limit the amount of influence -

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Animal, Mammal, Rat, Rodent -  Rovers Captain , Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], had compared to that 1st Leg, on 23rd February.

Again, due to the tight "marking" of Greta, Pernicious Victor, became "stretched" at the back.

Could contain: Firearm, Weapon, Gun, Rifle - Just as in the 1st Half, Genovese Mo the Genoa Low, had an impressive 2nd Half and marked -

Could contain: Purple, Smoke Pipe, Art, Doodle, Drawing, Animal, Invertebrate, Slug - Barbara the Bartlett High /Eunice the Euro Slug, out of the "Match".

Peruvian Gangster's Moll, La Nina - Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Grass, Plant, Dress again had seemingly little influence on the 2nd Half, "play".

In a bid to overturn the aggregate 5% deficit, Sammy Snowman called on his new signing - Could contain: Flag, Germany Flag, Baby, Person- Bifurcating Billy [Wilhelm], formerly - image.png.215a073111df5a0177e48f6a6e820570.png -  Jethro Jetstream [aka, The Pest from the West].

But as you can see from below, Billy wasn't able to bifurcate enough for his "Teammates":

      Could contain: Outdoors, Nature

Therefore, the "Match" Result was Sammy Snowman Utd 5% - Purple Blob Rovers 5%.

This resulted in an aggregate P.P.E. [Percentage Performance Estimation] scoreline over the 2 Legs of the Winter Season 2022/23 Play-Off decider of -

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman Utd 5% - Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Animal, Mammal, Rat, RodentPurple Blob Rovers 15%.

Despite Sammy Snowman and his U.S.D.A.W. [Union [of] Snowmen Distributed Around [the] World]/E,U.S. [European Union [of] Snowmen]; Teammates, sacrificing themselves in a S.S.W. [Sammy Snowman Warming] -

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, Snowman - it's all proved, "too little too late"

Perhaps loosing so many talented European Snowmen to "BRR-EXIT", proved to be Utd's undoing!!

    Tomorrow Morning,

Could contain: Shirt, Person, Portrait, Computer Hardware, Monitor, Screen, Adult, Male, Man, TV - Mark Poopatch,

Could contain: Beard, Face, Head, Person, Photography, Portrait, Adult, Male, Man - Roy Uninterested and -  Could contain: Head, Person, Face, Happy, Adult, Male, Man, Tie, Coat, Laughing - Ian Wrong-Wrong-Wrong

will take a look back at a Winter Season that began so promisingly for Sammy and his Utd "Teammates" but ultimately ended in defeat.

  16. Good Morning all,

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman here, non-playing Captain of Sammy Snowman Utd and along with I.T.V. [[Irrelevant Tactical Visions], hope yourselves and your Families are well and would now like to file a Half-Time report, on the 2nd Leg Play-0ff, of the Winter Season 2022/23 decider.

Both "Teams" [Purple Blob Rovers/Sammy Snowman Utd], came out on to the pitch, in the Stadium above the Gulf of Bothnia - Could contain: Chart, Plot, Land, Nature, Outdoors, Map, Sea, Water, Atlas, Vegetation at around 11.45 P.M., when the majority of you were hopefully snuggled up in bed.

The 60,000 crowd were asked to stand and respect the anthems, of both "Teams".

Being the Away "Team", Purple Blob Rovers had their anthem played first:

The 40,000 strong contingent of Utd's fans taunted the Rovers' fans with:

"Purple Blob all over a Model's chart.

Don't know whether to cry or fart?".

Sammy would like to apologise to the Family of the late Jimi Hendrix.

Then it was the turn of Sammy Snowman Utd, to have their anthem played:

A small contingent of Rover's 20,000 fans hit back with:

"Hey, where's the Snowman?" Hey, what's a Snowman?", which hung in the cold Midnight air, hanging over the Gulf of Bothnia.

At this point, Sammy would like to apologise to Mike Rutherford and Genesis for the arrogance and rudeness, of the Rover's fans,

Below, is how both the preferred model of each "Team" ,the European E,C,M.W,F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy], of Sammy Snowman Utd, and the American model  Go Freeze Satan [G.F.S.], depicted the Synoptic situation at  Kick-Off time [t0z].

        E.C.M.W.F. 500hPa 00z 28th Feb.               G.F.S. 500hPa 00z  28th Feb.

Could contain: Shirt, Person, Portrait, Computer Hardware, Monitor, Screen, Adult, Male, Man, TV - Mark Poopatch, Could contain: Beard, Face, Head, Person, Photography, Portrait, Adult, Male, Man - Roy Uninterested and - Could contain: Head, Person, Face, Happy, Adult, Male, Man, Tie, Coat, Laughing -  Ian Wrong-Wrong-Wrong

have been encouraged by the more positive 1st Half performance, by Utd.

Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Nature, Outdoors, Snow, Snowman, Winter A stronger 1st Half performance by Greta the Greenland High, has limited the amount of influence -

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Animal, Mammal, Rat, Rodent - Rovers Captain , Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], has had compared to the 1st Leg, on 23rd February.

Due to the attention of Greta, Pernicious Victor, has become "stretched" at the back.

Could contain: Firearm, Weapon, Gun, Rifle - Genovese Mo the Genoa Low, has also had an impressive 1st Half and as was hoped for has sent -

Could contain: Purple, Smoke Pipe, Art, Doodle, Drawing, Animal, Invertebrate, Slug -  Barbara the Bartlett High /Eunice the Euro Slug, to "sleep with da fishes", in the Med.

Peruvian Gangster's Moll, La Nina - Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Grass, Plant, Dress - has also had seemingly little influence on the 1st Half, "play".

As was stated just before the 1st Leg, these Play-Offs are not about scoring goals but all about which "Team" has the majority of Synoptic possession over the majority of the 500hPa charts, at 00z/12z in 23rd February's 1st Leg and at 00z/12z, in Today's 2nd Leg.

The 2nd Half will "kick-off" with the 12z runs of Go Freeze Satan [G.F.S.] and E.C.M.W.F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy].

In the meantime the crowd are enjoying some Half Time sustenance, supplied by Greggs the Bakers. Cornish Pasties and Steak and Kidney Pies are available to those, in the "cheap" seats. Meanwhile those that have tickets in the V.I.P. [Very Inflated Personality] seats, have also got the choice of Avocado/Prawn Sandwiches.

Even though Utd have performed far better than the 1st Leg they still need to be positive in the 2nd Half, if they are to overturn the aggregate P.P.E. [Percentage Performance Estimation], scoreline of - Sammy Snowman Utd 5% - Purple Blob Rovers 15%.

2nd Leg [Half Time] - [Sammy Snowman Utd 5% - Purple Blob Rovers 5%].

Be sure to tune in at 8 P.M, this Evening for  I.T.V.'s [Irrelevant Tactical Visions], 2nd Half of the 2nd Leg Highlights show, to find out who has been crowned Winner of the Winter Season Synoptics Cup, 2022/23.

plus another one of Julien's colourful creations -  Could contain: Chart, Plot, Diaper

In a few hours time, the above I.T.V. "Team" will be taking their seats in the specially constructed Studio above Sammy Snowman Utd's home ground, high above the - Could contain: Chart, Plot, Land, Nature, Outdoors, Map, Sea, Water, Atlas, Vegetation - Gulf of Bothnia, between Finland and Sweden.

The Line-Ups for both "Teams" have been announced, and are as follows:

                                                                        SAMMY SNOWMAN UTD

Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Nature, Outdoors, Snow, Snowman, Winter - Greta the Greenland High, Could contain: Firearm, Weapon, Gun, Rifle  - Genovese Mo the Genoa Low.

Could contain: Baby, Person - Scandy  Mandy the Scandinavian High,

Substitute - Could contain: Flag, Germany Flag, Baby, Person  - new signing Bifurcating Billy [Wilhelm], formerlyimage.png.e275f164e8d4b5d347302864262179f1.png - Jethro Jetstream [aka, The Pest from the West].

                                                                                     PURPLE BLOB ROVERS

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Animal, Mammal, Rat, Rodent - Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex, Captain].

Could contain: Purple, Smoke Pipe, Art, Doodle, Drawing, Animal, Invertebrate, Slug- Barbara the Bartlett High /Eunice the Euro Slug.Could contain: Clothing, Hat, Grass, Plant, Dress - La Nina.

Both Teams remain unchanged from the 1st Leg and Pernicious Victor is so arrogant and confident  confident that they can defend their 10% P.P.E,. [Percentage Performance Estimated] advantage from the 1st Leg, that he hasn't even bothered to name a Substitute.

Meanwhile, Sammy Snowman [Utd's non-playing Captain], has named new signing Bifurcating Billy [Wilhelm], as his Substitute who may make an appearance should the "Match" situation look likely to suit his style of play.

Therefore his 3 Man "Team" will play for the entirety of both halves [00z and 12z E.C.M.W.F./G.F.S.] model runs.

But both Uninterested and Wrongie both agree that if Utd are to" snatch victory from the jaws of defeat", they are going to have to be far more positive if they are to overturn that 10% Synoptic deficit they suffered in last Wednesday's, 1st Leg.

Be sure to tune in Tomorrow Morning, when Sammy Snowman will file a report on the 1st Half of the 2nd Leg, of the Winter Season 2022/23, Play-Off decider,

  18. Good Evening all,

Sammy Snowman here and in conjunction with  I.T.V. [[Irrelevant Tactical Visions], I would now like to file a report on the 2nd half of the 1st Leg Play-0ff of the Winter Season 2022/23 decider, between Purple Blob Rovers and Sammy Snowman Utd, the -

Could contain: Stage, Music Band, Group Performance, Person, Musician, Concert, Man, Adult, Male, Blackboard Status Quo, pretty much remained unchanged from the 1st Half.

Using the preferred model for each "Team" the American G,F.S, [Go Freeze Satan] and the European E,C,M.W,F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy], we can see below that nothing really changed in the 2nd Half, of the 1st Leg Yie.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Modern Art, Art, Map - Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Art

Virtually none of the protagonists from either "Team", seemed to make it out from the comfort of the Dressing Room, for the entire 12 hours of the 1st Leg.

Only the Captain of Purple Blob Rovers  Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, Animal Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], had any influence on the 1st Leg,

His fellow "Players", Could contain: Purple, Smoke Pipe, Doodle, Drawing, Art, Slug, Invertebrate, Animal  Barbara the Bartlett High /Eunice the Euro Slug and -Could contain: Hat, Clothing, Grass, Plant, DressLa Nina, were conspicuous, by their absence.

The same can be said for Sammy Snowman Utd, their 3 "Players" -

Could contain: Hat, Clothing, Snowman, Winter, Snow, Outdoors, NatureGreta the Greenland High, Could contain: Firearm, Weapon, Rifle, GunGenovese Mo the Genoa Low. and -

Could contain: Person, BabyScandy Mandy the Scandinavian High, even got out on the "Pitch".

Apart from the egotistical Captain of Rovers, the egotistical -   Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, Animal Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], there vould well be a few changes to the 2nd Leg, Line-U[s.

I'm certain that non-playing Captain of Utd, Sammy Snowman will be expecting a lot more from the "Team" that he selects, for that 2nd Leg next Tuesday. He will no doubt be looking to "play" new signing - Could contain: Germany Flag, Flag, Person, BabyBifurcating Billy [Wilhelm].

ex stalwart of Rovers, image.png.68d855de5c0ec449213b5283c364fba4.pngJethro Jetstream the All American Boy [aka, The Pest from the West].

I'm sure Sammy will be more content than Rover's Player/Manager [Pernicious Victor/Polar Vortex].

But Utd will have to be more positive than Today's "Match", as calculations from Today's P.P.E. [Percentage Performance Energy], give a 1se Leg Scoreline of - Purple Blob Rovers 10& Sammy Snowman Utd 0%. Half Time [5% - 0%].

  19. Sammy Snowman here again

I will now file a report on the 1st half of the 1st Leg of the Winter Season 2022/23 Play-Off,

Both "Teams" [Purple Blob Rovers/Sammy Snowman Utd], came out on to the pitch, in the Stadium above the G.I.N. [Greenland/Iceland/Norway] corridor at around 11.45 P.M., when the majority of you were hopefully snuggled up in bed.

The 60,000 crowd were asked to stand and respect the anthems, of both "Teams".

Being the Away "Team", Sammy Snowman Utd had their anthem played first:

The 40,000 strong contingent of Rover's fans taunted the Utd fans with:

"Hey, where's the Snowman?" Hey, what's a Snowman?"

At this point, Sammy would like to apologise to Mike Rutherford and Genesis for the arrogance and rudeness, of the Rover's fans,

Then it was the turn of Purple Blob Rovers, to have their anthem played:

The 20,000 strong Army of Utd's fans, hit back with:

"Purple Blob all over a Model's chart.

Don't know whether to cry or fart?".

Sammy would like to apologise to the Family of the late Jimi Hendrix but Utd's fans were just responding to the taunts, of the Rover's fans.

Hostilities, were well and truly joined.

    The 1st Leg Play-Off "kicked off£ at precisely 00z.

The Line-Ups for both "Teams" were as the same as reported, yesterday Evening:

                                                                                       PURPLE BLOB ROVERS

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, AnimalPernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex, Captain].

Could contain: Purple, Smoke Pipe, Doodle, Drawing, Art, Slug, Invertebrate, AnimalBarbara the Bartlett High /Eunice the Euro SlugCould contain: Hat, Clothing, Grass, Plant, DressLa Nina.

                                                                             SAMMY SNOWMAN UTD

Could contain: Hat, Clothing, Snowman, Winter, Snow, Outdoors, NatureGreta the Greenland HighCould contain: Firearm, Weapon, Rifle, GunGenovese Mo the Genoa Low.

Could contain: Person, Baby Scandy  Mandy the Scandinavian High,

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman [non playing Captain].

For the sake of fairness, F.I.F.A. asked both "Teams" to nominate a Forecast Model that they would like to represent their Synoptic performance, in both Legs of the Winter Season 2022/23 Play-Off.

Purple Blob Rovers nominated the American model, G.F.S. [Go Freeze Satan], with Sammy Snowman Utd plumping for the European model, E.C.M.W.F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy].

These Play-Offs are not about scoring goals but all about which "Team" has the majority of Synoptic possession over the majority of the 500hPa charts, at 00z/12z in Today's 1st Leg and at 00z/12z, in next Tuesday's [28th], 2nd Leg.

As would have been expected, there was no difference between the 2 models at 00z.

                             G.F.S. 500hPa 00z 22nd Feb.            E.C.M.W.F 500hPa 00z 22nd Feb.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Art, Map   Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Outdoors

It was a very "cagey" 1st Half, with neither "Team" wanting to commit their chosen "players", in advanced positions.

But in typical brash and confident mo0de, Rover's Skipper [Pernicious VictorPolar Vortex], can be seen bossing the "play", in the far N.W., of the pitch.

Could contain: Beard, Head, Face, Person, Portrait, Photography, Man, Adult, MaleRoy Uninetrested and  Could contain: Head, Person, Face, Happy, Man, Adult, Male, Tie, Coat, LaughingIan Wrong-Wrong-Wrong,

both agree that - Could contain: Hat, Clothing, Snowman, Winter, Snow, Outdoors, NatureGreta the Greenland High,

needs to "press"  Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, AnimalPernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex] more in the 2nd Half,

to stop him having so much Synoptic possession, and controlling the "Match".

Sammy would have to concede that Rovers, courtesy of their Captain [Pernicious Victor/Polar Vortex], have had more of the Synoptic possession, during the 1st Half.

Just a final point about Utd's audacious last minute signing of -

image.png.2f1ed8f6bdbb2f6760d6f40dab29db85.pngJethro Jetstream the All American Boy [aka,The Pest from the West].

Jethro has been registered with F.I.F.A. , under the name of Could contain: Germany Flag, Flag, Person, BabyBifurcating Billy [Wilhelm].

and Billy is hoping to make his debut for Utd next Tuesday above the Gulf of Bothnia, between Finland and Sweden, in the very crucial 2nd Leg of the Winter Season 2022/23 Play-Off, decider.

Later Today, Sammy Snowman will file a report on the 2nd Half of the 1st Leg Play-Off, after the 12z model runs, have been published.

Only 3 "Players" allowed in these  Winter Season 2022/23 Play-Off Matches.

Rovers have decided to play their recent new acquisition, Peruvian Gangster's Moll, La Nina.

Captain [Pernicious Victor], will be looking to dictate play in his free roaming role. and will be hoping that new signing La Nina will be able to negate any threat from Utd's threesome.

Meanwhile, Non-Playing Utd Captain Sammy Snowman will be encouraging his Team, from his technical area.

His threesome of "Greta Greenie", Genovese Mo and Scandy Mandy, will be playing in a very defensive mode and hoping to nullify any attacking threat, from the Rovers threesome.

Now Special Guest, Alex the Adult [Deakin], would like to make his contribution and like "Julien the Juvenile", has brought along his colouring pencils to highlight his very insightful analysis, in this very detailed video clip, and makes some observations about the current Sammy Snowman Warming:

They both suggest that Utd need to limit the 1st Leg Synoptic possession lost to acceptable levels, to give them a chance of overturning the deficit, in the 2nd Leg [00z/12z, Tuesday 28th February].

Be sure to tune in at "Half Time" [Tomorrow Morning], for a report on how the 1sr Half unfolded.

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, AnimalPurple Blob Rovers and Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman Utd.

Sammy and his Utd colleagues asked for the 1st Leg to be postponed for a further 24 hours, as they were still travelling back from Switzerland, after "playing" St.Moritz Synoptics, in a warm up [cool down], Friendly.

F.I.F.A. [Fantasy Island Fanatics Association] have agreed with this request and the 1st Leg will now take place, Tomorrow [22nd].

The 2nd Leg will now take place on Tuesday 28th February, the final Day of Meteorological Winter.

Rovers Owner - Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, Animal - Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], is reported to be extremely angry at F.I.F.A.'s decision, for allowing Sammy Snowman Utd, to - Could contain: Fruit, Produce, Food, Plant, Cherry"cherry pick" these - Could contain: Ketchup, Food, Raisins - dates.

Tomorrow's 1st Leg, 1st half will be centred around the G.F.S. [Go Freeze Satan] and the E.C.M.W.F. [Every Coldies Morning Winter Fantasy] 00z Model runs, at t00z. Poopatch and his Studio guests will have the likely Synoptic/Teleconnection Line-Ups for both Rovers and Utd, in Tomorrow's 1st Leg, and will hopefully be able to explain the Rules for these Play-Off "Matches".

Sammy is reported to be delighted with the solidarity shown by members of U.S.D.A.W. [Union [of] Snowmen Distributed Around [the] World], and the E.U.S. [European Union [of] Snowmen], with their Hunger Strike and sacrificial meltdown, that has led to a S.S.W. [Sammy Snowman Warming] but acknowledges that it will have no bearing on Tomorrow's 1st Leg Play-Off and is not guaranteed to have any influence on next Tuesday's, 2nd Leg.

Meanwhile, to give his "Team" confidence of defeating Utd, Pernicious Victor has shown the following Youtube clip to his "Team", on several occasions, which occurred during pre-Season training last Year, in November.

As Victor suggested to his "Team", this is what you call "Lake Effect" Snow and not that bit of "dandruff" that those in the South East of England, may currently be anticipating after the Sammy Snowman Warming!!:

Sammy Snowman will be back at 8 P.M. Tonight, to introduce I.T.V.'s 1st Leg Play-Off preview programme.

    See you all, later.

    Regards,

    Sammy Snowman. 👍 :snowman-emoji: ❄️

  22. Good Evening all,

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman here and he hopes that he finds yourselves and your Families, well.

Sammy would like to apologise for his non appearance this Morning, for the 1st Leg Play-Off between -

Could contain: Purple, Pottery, Rat, Rodent, Mammal, AnimalPurple Blob Rovers and Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Winter, Snow, SnowmanSammy Snowman Utd, in the Winter Season 2022/23 decider.

The 1st Leg was abandoned at short notice, due to anticipated Stormy conditions in the G.I.N. [Greenland/Iceland/Norway] corridor, giving rise to very difficult travelling conditions, for the expected 60,000 crowd in the Stadium  overlooking the G.I.N. corridor.

F.I.F.A. ]Fantasy Island Fanatics Association], have announced the revised dates, for both Legs of the Play-Off.

The 1st Leg will now take place over the G.I.N. corridor, between 00z and 12z on Tuesday 21st February [t60].

Weather conditions look far more conducive for the 1st Leg to go ahead, along with the likelihood of little if any travel disruption  causing problems for fans of both Rovers and Utd:

The rescheduled date of the 2nd Leg, will now be on Tuesday 28th February [t228], when again Weather conditions are Forecast to be far more acceptable over the 2nd Leg venue - Could contain: Plot, Chart, Land, Nature, Outdoors, Map, Sea, Water, Atlas, Vegetation [the Gulf of Bothnia, between Finland and Sweden] , with no Weather problems, anticipated:

Could contain: Plot, Chart - Could contain: Plot, Chart, Modern Art, Art, Outdoors, Nature

But Owner of Purple Blob Rovers, Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], is reported to be incensed by F.I.F.A.'s decision and has accused the Owner of Sammy Snowman Utd of trying to bribe F.I.F.A., with some -

Rovers Owner stated in a Tweet, "What do you expect when the Owner of Utd, is half - Italian and everyone knows that a Member of Utd's Playing Staff -  Could contain: Firearm, Weapon, Rifle, Gun - Genovese Mo [the Genoa Low], has Mafia connections!!"

With the rescheduling of the Play-Offs, I.T.V, [Irrelevant Tactical Visions], will now be broadcasting a preview programme of the 1st Leg Play-0ff at 8 P.M., on Monday 27th February.

Who knows, by this time, Uninterested may have found his razor and get rid of that fungus that has taken over the bottom half, of his face!!

Will see you all on Monday.

Here's hoping that my S.S.W. [Sammy Snowman Warming], will be starting to pay dividends by this time!!

    Night all.

  23. Sammy would now like to file a report on the likely Synoptic/Weather conditions for Tomorrow's 1st Leg of the Winter Season 2022/23, decider.

Purple Blob Rovers Captain/Manager/Owner, the all action Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], will be looking to direct his Team's affairs, from Rovers base camp above Baffin Island, as the 1st Leg kicks off at 00z. There is likely to be a wind somewhere between S.W. and W., close to the Stadium, above the G.I.N. [Greenland/Iceland/Norway], corridor. Temperatures likely to be between 0c and a few degrees above, during the 1st half. It looks likely to be mainly dry but I suppose you couldn't rule out a little Rain/Sleet or Snow.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Modern Art, Art, Map - Could contain: Modern Art, Art, Accessories, Pattern, Outdoors, Nature -

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram, Outdoors, Nature

As the "Teams"make their way out on to the Pitch for the 2nd half, [12z]. very little will likely have changed.

Pernicious Victor [aka Polar Vortex], will still be looking to direct his Team's affairs, from Rovers base camp above Baffin Island. There is still likely to be a wind somewhere between S.W. and W., close to the Stadium, above the G.I.N. [Greenland/Iceland/Norway], corridor.

Again, temperatures are likely to be between 0c and a few degrees above, during the 2nd half. It looks likely to be mainly dry but with a bit more Rain/Sleet or Snow, about.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map Could contain: Outdoors, Accessories, Nature -

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram -Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram, Outdoors, Nature

What is apparent from the above is that members of Sammy Snowman Utd, appear to have remained in the Dressing Room, for the entire Match.

There is no sign of Greta the Greenland High, Svalbard Sven, Scandy Mandy or Genovese Mo the Genoa Low.

This doesn't bode well for Utd, If this is how the 1st Leg of the Play-Off will pan out, surely Sammy and his "Team" will give themselves too much to do, come the 2nd Leg of the Play-Off over the Gulf of Bothnia, a Week Tomorrow.

Could contain: Beard, Head, Face, Person, Portrait, Photography, Man, Adult, MaleRoy Uninterested and - Could contain: Head, Person, Face, Happy, Man, Adult, Male, Tie, Coat, LaughingIan WrongfWrong-Wrong, are so gobsmacked by the lack of commitment from Sammy Snowman Utd, in such an important "Match", that they have been left speechless.

"Wrongie" is so disappointed that he wishes that he had switched his allegiance to the B.B.C. [Better Bet {for] Coldies], and -

Could contain: Portrait, Photography, Head, Face, Person, Neck, Blonde, Man, Adult, Male - Gary Spinnaker and his highlights programme, "Synoptics of the Day".

During the Half-Time interval Tomorrow Morning [around 09z or so], Sammy will post up his thoughts on how, the 1st half went for Sammy Snowman Utd.

    Regards,

    Sammy Snowman. 👍 :snowman-emoji: ❄️
