Good morning, just wondering if anyone else saw a shooting star last night about 9pmish? It was a bit odd as there seemed to be complete cloud cover at the time.

We love all the crows in this house (not goths much, noooo, not at all) over lockdown we had a family of jackdaws who got quite chummy with us and bring us their Preciouses.
Which isn;t brilliant when you're in the garden weeding and some fool of a bird decides to drop a shiny brass washer in front of you, narrowly missing beaning you on the head.
If there are no goths in your house you wouln't like our crow lamp then!
I see blue sky and sunshine! Apparently more wind this afternoon.

According to MO Camborne hit 60mph about 6 o'clock and then slowly tapered off. The jackdaws over the road think it's all calmed down now, although they do love a good breeze anyway don't they? They're cavorting about the sky clattering like good 'uns even though it's not even quite daylight yet.
The Jackdaws hijack the seagulls for food in the garden, its hilarious to see, then the Carion Crows have the last say.

Apparently at one point last night Wimborne hit 62mph, gusting to 70+mph. All quiet now of course.

It has turned very wet now. I didn't notice the rain because of the wind noise. The fish can take their jackets off now the pond has warmed up.
The ice was still around the edge of our our ponds early this afternoon.

PS @Snowkissedtwice if you have any connections with the Militia of your town of residence, I'll be seeing you in April
No I don't have any connections but April is a great time of year to come. Coincidentally, I will be going to Porthowan at the end of April

Thank you - but she was ready, I think. When she was a young woman in the 50s and 60s she used to wear the shortest skirts and the highest heels, she was like a film star, and increasingly she didn't like being old. Every now and again she would buy lovely glamorous clothes and then she'd remember she was a fragile older lady and she couldn't wear killer heels - she couldn't put make up on because of her cataracts, she couldn't hear properly, no one wanted to flirt with her any more - and she'd just had enough.
It's cold, wet and dark, and I am sure of it she just woke up last Saturday and thought "done with this shizzle now, thank you".
Your lovely Mum sounds as though she enjoyed herself when she was young! Yes I can relate to that as my 94 year old Mum has dementia and keeps asking why she is alive as she just wants to transition over to the other side now. It takes a brave soul to decide they have had enough I think. My thoughts are with you.

Quietly removes self from the Storm Isha thread.... my goodness there's some right ones on there isn't there?
We had to go and clear mum's room at the nursing home (she passed last Saturday) and driving back from the windier side of Cornwall with a loaded Citroen Picasso round St Austell Bay was.... interesting.
So sorry to hear about your Mum. I know how difficult that must have been today.

- 1 in Wimborne this morning. Still frost on the ground in sheltered places and the ice on the pond just as thick it seems. The beautiful sun rise was a treat!
-
The poor goldfish in our ponds are well and truly iced in! The ice is so thick it has taken two kettles of boiling water to break through to the water. No sign of the ice melting.
-
Woke up to heavy frost, -5 here in Wimborne.

The pond is now over flowing for sure! The rain is so intense.

I am surprised the Amber warning isn't lower to the south tbh. The wind here is very high, feels more like 65 -70mph the trees are really taking a hammering.

A lovely dusting of snow on rooftops here and a light flurry now. Its proper snow though, non of this sleety rubbish!

Why are these 'aliens' mainly presenting themselves to US Army and Navy aircraft?
Surely, we should all be seeing them.
They have been seen all around the world and by many military and ordinary people, like myself. It is well known that there has been a campaign of disinformation by all the governments so that 'joe' public will not take any of the sightings seriously. One of the reasons you do not 'hear' of more people reporting UAP's is that most people are disbelieved and ridiculed and so they keep their sightings to themselves. Where the Military is concerned, up to now there has been no formal or legitimate way to report their sightings. It is a very deep and complex subject and if you are truly interested you will find lots of answers from watching the meeting of Congress on UAP's in its entirety. You will find the link above.

I'm pretty sure if you have figured out how to traverse the galaxy you can work how to deal with minor sheet like localized environments and the like ..its not like its the first planet they have ever visited is it? they have been coming here for millions of years on holidays and such
In the meeting today one of the witnesses says that it is being theorised that the UAP's are not travelling through space but rather they are travelling through dimensions. It is linked to String Theory and is much more believable in my opinion.

I'm in 3 minds logically about these UFO/UAPs in that
1. It's our own advanced technology from a country that's keeping it 'Highly Classified' ie.China for surveillance purposes.
2. These craft are self-replicating Von Neumann probes sent by another civilisation somewhere out in the Galaxy that are either now gone or we haven't discovered the means to communicate with (yet.)
3. It's actual Aliens and like us Humans they are prone to making mistakes and/or susceptible to our Environment and have unwittingly crashed.
To assume that Aliens (if it is) who travel across the Galaxy expanse aren't susceptible to variations such as localised Environment, Gravity, Atmosphere, etc here on Earth is a little naieve considering the large number of Rovers us Humans have managed to crash on the Moon & Mars, and that's barely stepping our foot outside the door.
You are not alone in with your thoughts but I wonder if you would change any of the above if you watched the meeting that took place in Congress today?
The link is here for anyone who is interested

WOW! Just had a really heavy downpour of hailstones. The patio and car is covered in white stuff. Then magically, it suddenly stopped. Come on own up... who turned off the tap?
