  1. Lots of rumbles from the cell to the NW of Bradford right now. Haven't seen any lightning but the detectors are picking up a few. Desperately hoping that cell to the South of Leeds hits me head on, and doesn't veer East at the last minute! I am without car at the moment, so have chosen the wine and cake at my window option of Storm viewing for today. Its so unfair to not be driving at a time when the roads are relatively quiet and a great storm is so close and yet so far!

  2. This is a bit of a long shot, but the Campo Colorado chase (see profile pic) wasn't just the best chase of my life. It was the best day of my life! Am kinda hoping that someone on here happened to be on that chase too, as would love to chat and babble and just talk about old times with someone who was actually there too.

For anyone who cares, this is the video from my / our chase.

i won't go on about specific's as it does look messy but Brickfielder  posted a good post above^

    Thanks Allseason-si --- I appreciate the reply.

I check out all three forecasts multiple times a day. But that doesn't satisfy me. I need to understand WHY they say what they say. And whilst they all concur T-storms for Bradford are likely tomorrow for a good 12 hours - I just can't see that in the GFS charts (the free ones available on net weather) when I look. I did see Brickfielders post, but it all seems to say 'yay' for the south west - but Im in the North West and I couldn't see much in his / her post about Yorkshire, or what it is that is making Yorkshire such a forecastable hotspot for storms tomorrow. I know this is me lacking in knowledge - but I want to gain knowledge and not just take a websites word for it!!! For instance, do you know where I can find (free to view) skew T's for the Yorkshire region? And when you compare the GFS precipitation chart for 9pm tomorrow for Bradford, there is a big bullseye of heavy rain that stays around a while, but there is no corresponding bullseye on the GFS storm / CAPE/Li forecast, but yet the generalised forecasts for all websites still forecasts storms. What is it that Im missing? What charts should I be looking at?

Im not exactly a forecaster, but looking at the storm, precip and CAPE charts - it looks like a whole bunch of rain and not a lot else for Bradford tomorrow. I can't see too much to jump up and down about- The charts are all just real 'messy'. Can you see what it is that is making the BBC and Netweather forecast storms for Bradford? What should I be looking at?

p.s. If your response includes the phrase 'Theta W' you're gonna have to explain what that is!

I have just looked at the bbc and met office video forecast's,it's going to be an interesting day that's for sure but i do feel for the northwest of England after all the rain they had yesterday and there could be further flooding, still,i am sure that some folk on here wouldn't mind if they get a good storm out of it

Think we're in the wrong place tbh.

Storms in nw England pushing north then storms kicking off via the cooler air coming in will probably initiate storms for eastern England with us stuck in the middle.

Heat going out with a whimper for us I'm afraid.

Thanks Joggs. I kinda suspected that would be the case... Not for any scientific reason, but because the storms on Tuesday night were so amazing and we just aint lucky enough to be treated to great storms twice in a year - let alone twice in a week!

Well, not sure what cells will make their way to Torquay, but I wait in hope. I only wish I had a car at the moment, because I'd definitely be doing some chasing later.

I am car-less too. Will be sat in Bradford forced to face North and hope for the best. There are some intense blips over Yorkshire on the GFS charts for 6pm-ish, and I would love to be chasing. Will make do with a G+T and my fingers crossed.
