I kinda feel for you guys but we've been storm-starved in the West Country for what seems like years, so this morning was actually moderately exciting!
-
It sounds pretty tasty outside and I'm only in Torquay. First time I've had the windows shut for about a month! This could be nasty for Cornwall and the Scillies with all the trees in full leaf. I certainly wouldn't want to be camping tonight.

Those down in Torquay getting the best show currently. Not much else is the SW at the moment.
Weirdly, I heard and saw nothing! It seemed to be super localised over the Babbacome area. It's got really gusty here now though.

Well that was definitely the last storm of the day I think, absolute insane day. Gets a 9 out of 10 for me!
Anyway my friend has kindly aloud me share some images and also todays top 5 highest rainfall totals from Todays beasts. He will also be uploading a load of footage an time lapse over the coming hours which he has also kindly aloud to share when its ready
Truly amazing pics! Capturing the shear awe of these storms. For this forum, it's a funny old thing. For some it's a "bust", the hope of something dramatic presenting as nothing more than drizzle and mild annoyance. For some, it's a really dramatic sequence of events, possibly veering into the dangerous.
Whatever happens, our little island is as varied as the people who live on it and we're all going to see some amazing things that will sometimes shock us.
Sorry if that's all a bit philosophical but it's so cool that our world just does what it does and we all get to tune into it a bit.
Get out there and experience it; 'cos its awesome.

Lightning east and south of my current location. Flashes for some time.
Currently in Ivybridge, South Devon.
Yep, I'm looking out to my SE here in Torquay and the channel is lighting up. Allowing myself to get a little excited now
It's really gusty out there too.- 2

Almost clear sky and temps increasing here in Torquay.

Looks like you guys out East are going to have a bit of fun. Bit gutted to be missing out but I'll enjoy watching the radar and seeing Sussex getting a bit of a hammering. Enjoy!

For further north I’d agree but the soundings look disappointing, skinny CAPE over the south west and pretty moist so updrafts are unlikely to be strong. Just the odd sferics currently and radar looking more like a ‘wet mess’ than showing sharp returns. It’s already dead in the water for the south west I suspect.
Yep. It's a soggy mess this morning. Back to the No Storms Club we go... The grockles will be happy, I guess.

MetO just issued a yellow warning of T-Storms for the SW. After what feels like a 2 year membership in the No Storms Club, I'm approaching moderate excitement...

Has anyone got any clearing skies? Still merky and meh here and not humid feeling at all - maybe I’ve just acclimatised to it after the past week
Grey, miserable and dark but noticeably fresher down here in Torquay; not showing any signs of clearing yet, with the radar showing some drizzle coming in from the NE.

Wow, parts of Mid and W Devon getting an absolutely pasting.
Quiet as you like daan saaf in Kingsbridge
I know! Gone grey and muggy in Torquay. Not a storm in sight. With the rest of the country having so much fun, the FOMO is killing me!

Just musing here (boredom has kicked in now!)
The track of all the stuff on the S. Coast seems to be backing WSW. Maybe Torbay will get something in the next couple of hours unless it all dies out.

Watching that system currently NE of Guernsey.
I'm planted firmly in "No Storms Club" at the moment, down here in Torquay. Had some rain overnight but nothing else of interest happening down here at all this week (actually, all year!). Been fun seeing things absolutely go off in the rest of the country though. Some of you have had some corkers. Fingers crossed we get something...

Very dark, close and eerie here, near Brixham. Waiting for this to happen and listening to distant thunder:
