Rain earlier in Staines which washed away most of the snow. Heavy snow now which has settled on all surfaces the temps have really dropped away in the last hour or so.

Heavy snow in Staines now. Settling on a soaking this morning and last night quite impressive really. Temp has dropped to 1.4C for a dizzy height of 2.1C about an hour ago. How long is this likely to last?

Started snowing here in Staines. Started about 10 mins ago as sleet now moderate snow.

Well it would appear that thats all i'm going to get today. A level 6 inches in total. Snow started last night at around 8.00pm and was continuos nuntil this morning with a lull between 10am -2pm (very light snow) before a second wave hit with very heavy snow for about 1.5hrs

This is truely amazing. I haven't seen snow like this for a long time (and i'm old school) even when i lived in the Lake District in the 70's and 80's and it's just getting heavier and heavier.

Wow - Looks like i'm in for a snow day (something between a holiday and working from home). We have about 6 inches of level snow something i haven't seen for at least 20 years and it's getting worse!!!

Glen, Debs,
Thanks for your replies.
I've been told by my friends to bring swimming trunks and suntan lotion Jokingly of course.
Looking forward to seeing my first bit of snow of the year.
Thanks again.
Hi Dee,
Well just checked on news channel. Tomorrow is going to be about -14 not too sure of windchill and the rest of the week is going to be below freezing. I'm sure others on here will definately give a more in depth report but those are the basics.....bring your thermals and your french translation.......whats bringing you to Montreal, business or pleasure?
Debs
Pleasure - i have some Lebanesse friends who have just moved there from South Africa and have recently wed. We missed the wedding in SA so we thought it would be nice to join them in Montreal - to help them settle in a little and share a few beers, sights and sounds.
My french is none existant so i'll be relying on my friends to get me through - although there can't be many words for beer.Lol
