Great covering here this morning. Early morning snowball fight, and kids have sledged to school.
Roads don’t seem good, plenty cars stuck on our estate!- 1

All just falling as sleet here, must be too close to the coast

Coming down lightly in Boldon, but streets are slightly white and kids (and me) are over the moon to see it

Glad the regional thread is alive again, can’t fully grasp the model thread. Excited to lamppost watch after the match.

I crave for another year like November 2010 we got absolutely pummeled lol
Probably the best winter I’ve ever experienced. I was working up on the west road in Newcastle and my car was snowed in by the end of each day.

Can I ask, possibly a stupid question.
The snow charts on netweather - which model do they put their data from?
I’m presuming they aren’t the most accurate, a lot like the weather apps? -

It definitely won’t be sleet today we had the lightest snow shower in history in Costa del Redcar so if it’s cold enough here it’s cold enough anywhere
I’ll keep my fingers crossed then, for both here and Redcar

I’m within the new MO warning, but can only see it being sleet here on the coast.
Popped out for an hour today, first time I’ve left the house in 9 days due to vertigo, and came back to a covering - gutted I missed it. All melted again now.

Nothing here so far either. Seems to be skirting off the coast as usual.

Been blue skies here for the last hour, seems to be darkening again now. I’m close to the coast, about 3 miles away.

Yeah started here quite a bit heavier. Sky is white all of a sudden and all snow.

Honestly the worst freezing spell for years re snow in these parts. Give me blow torch south westerlies over plain freezing weather with ice rink paths! Pointless having frigid temps with no snow.
My dummy is well and truly spat out the pram this morning.
There’s a few tiny little flakes just starting here, they’ll be heading your way. Hopefully picks up!

By the current track, it looks like it will miss me. Better chances in S. Tyneside though...
Looks like it’s just staying slightly off the coast and missing us

Grosmont station continues to get battered by the showers.
What a shame the wind isn't favoured for us, its packed with showers out in the North Sea.
It’s frustrating! I’m looking towards the coast and can see all the cloud but above me is blue skies.

A slight dusting here, enough to cover up the footprints from the last few days.
Does’nt look like much of interest for today either.

I would be getting the cutters out. Just turn the cut side to the window, then when the showers are on rotate it so you can get down the side
I’ve considered it, kids might not forgive me

Usually just sleet here as well, over the moon it’s proper snow, and settling.
Just been looking at the radar, looks a lot more promising than it did a few hours ago.

Same here as Washington it seems @P-M . Another cm or so come down over the last half an hour. Roads white again and sledge tracks disappearing.

Best snow we’ve had in a while here. Early morning sledging and kids off to build a snowman ️
