A few hours ago, I heard the deeply distressing news, that my Son Antony passed away, in his sleep overnight.
Antony was in the advanced stages of Huntington's Disease, which is a genetic and terminal illness.
Antony inherited the condition from his Mother, my first Wife.
He would have been 40, next Month.
He passed away at Home, where he lived with his Sister Hayley, and her Boyfriend.
I realised that Antony was only a matter of Months away, from being placed in a Care Home but thought he might still have another few Years of Life to come.
It obviously was a tremendous shock to hear the news of his passing, from my Daughter's Boyfriend.
I have just put an In Memoriam post up in that Thread, to Antony's memory.
Regards,
Tom.
Sorry to hear Tom :(

A bit of sun and warmth has made an enormous difference to my mood!
Feels like a brilliant weekend compared to most in these times, a 10k walk with a friend yesterday and demolition almost done ready for an extension.
Though I didn't realise what a sun trap this area is, maybe I should change my mind!

Well I expected to feel a little warmer this week but the wind seems to go right through me (External wind of course!!!)!
Since last summer I've been working in my office, an elevated summer house, the wind felt exceptional today in gusts, and rocked the whole building.
As much as I love the snow, I'm pining for spring and summer, is anyone else done with winter?

Wow! Just woke to the thickest blanket we've had yet, looks like proper snowman material!

Models for us still look relatively decent despite the radar so I'm holding out hope!
Plus I told everyone on Facebook snow was coming so...
Snap, feeling pretty sheepish now ha ha, that gap is more impressive than what was expected really!!

Very close to me and I’m still not seeing anything!
In between you and @Kentspur, just off A2 in Strood...
Excuse my actual building site, hopefully you can see a few light flakes!

Morning,
WOW what a way to wake up full of expectation that has more than been dampened!
In between Rochester and Gravesend on the map and nothing here.... yet!

Hey! Looking forward to it too.
Such a shame that COVID means I'll be working from home. This Time last year I'd be having time off!
WFH too, but I reckon I'll get away with extended lunch breaks to sledge down the hill with kids!

XC Weather, based on the 06Z GFS has me at 30CM by the end of Tuesday.
Snow continuing Wednesday through Friday which I am ignoring for now. But if it was to play out as currently modelled I would be looking at 50CM by the end of Friday.
Location: Medway, NW Kent.
Hello fellow Stroodie! Looking forward to the coming days

One word of caution I would add though, regarding any convective/Streamer activity, would be the following:
Can't remember the Winter Season but the METO had a Severe Weather Warning out for heavy prolonged Snow Showers, for the East of Essex and Mid/East Kent, on a strong N.E. flow.
Convection didn't fire in the Southern North Sea, though.
An overhang of cloud from a Front over N.E. France, scuppered any chance of Snow Showers forming, and it remained bone dry!!
Do any Members remember that bust?
Regards,
Tom.
Lurker of many years here, please go back to bold font Tom, it's not quite the same!
