Nothing here in the Cambridgeshire corridor of shame. Seems we might be the only area in the region without snow. Even the heavy stuff coming through on the radar looks like missing us.
That’s amazing IT, I think you are about 20 miles south of me and I am looking out on 4-5inches, those showers coming in off the wash last night is what did it for us. Unfortunately, the big showers to our east look like fizzling out before they reach us.
-
Still coming down in Peterborough, approx 5cms at the mo’.

Drove through Stamford earlier and I estimate that there was a good 3-4 inches on the tops of some cars and at that point it was still really hammering down, 10 miles south in Peterborough it had virtually gone apart from some favoured sheltered spots.
Still a lot to be hopeful for though (he says with his fingers crossed.....)

Absolutely pouring here in Peterborough, flakes are not massive but the intensity, wow, not seen this since Jan 2013.

If there's more support from other folks in East Anglia we can certainly consider it.
Yep, up here we definitely don’t need it to head any further south! We need it a touch further north and east.

Much heavier now, there seems to be a 15min lag in what the radar is showing and what is actually happening. If it stays as snow, I'm hoping that the lag happens on the back end as well
-
Don't think I've ever seen it snow so slowly, one flake every 3 seconds. No sign of any settling at all here.
-
First few flakes falling now.

Left Peterborough city centre at 1.40 today and the car thermometer was showing 8 degrees, 10 minutes and 6 miles later after driving through hail, sleet and a snowy mix the temp was showing as 2.5, I've never known such a dramtic drop in such a short period of time.
-
Temp topped out here at 9.2 today and I don't think I've seen a cloud all day, bootiful 😊
-
8.5 here today and a thermometer placed in the sun reached 17! Really beautiful day up here.
-
Temp 1.9 with a dp of -0.3.

Showers showing signs of moving south from Hull now. It looks like the showers will become more extensive as the day goes on and turn increasingly wintry. So all to play for
They seem to be disappating at quite a rate though as they try and move inland, hope you're right though as we would all have a bite at the cherry if they continue on their current track.

I joined in Feb 2005 too, must have been a good month
I joined only two months prior.....I followed a cold snowy end to a November. The second half of Feb 2005 was a good cold spell. i suspect the cold and snowy periods were our inspirations
I would have thought the 'potential' for a cold and snowy period was our inspiration!

Wow, just wow, woke up and looked out and couldn't believe what I was seeing! Heavy heavy snow, the whole garden white and looking as though someone had thrown a pure white blanket over it. But hold on, why is there a horse over in the corner apparently drinking a cup of coffee, why does my garden look only half the size it actually is and where's my shed gone!!??
Bl**dy dreams! Grrrr...... 😒
Just noticed that this is my 300th post, considering I joined the forum in Feb 2005, not exactly prolific am I?😊

Well! What a surprise this has been. Lovely narnia scenes outside now, and looking at the latest radar returns, could this be the start of the Wash Streamer starting to form! Heres hoping.
The potential streamer looks like it's trying but not convinced yet.
-
Still snowing albeit very lightly now, just been into the garden and measured the depth at just over 2cms on the top of one of the bins.
-
Wow.. Anyone seen that halo around the moon
Oh wish I could but we've got full cloud cover and it's still pouring with snow
-
Pretty much
But dont you agree, for example Brighton to Kings Lynn, 3hours and over 160 miles in the car, for our little Island thats quite extreme to be included in just the one region where conditions will vastly differ.
Yeah I guess so Steve but I think you could say the same in almost any area in the regionals, if you look at the extremes, then there are going to be big differences, don't you think?
Being originally from Sarf London, I love being in with you guys!
-
20p sized flakes now and a good covering on the grass and most of the patio.
Got to go and pick my son up in about 20mins, might leave a tad earlier.
-
So it's you Steve who decides whether we're in the East Midlands or EA!?Always used to be split, was more reasonable then as I still think parts of EA are almost into the midlands
So then, which is it? 😉
Anyways, it's still pouring here 😀
-
Snow has arrived, already a slight covering.
We are opposite ends of the Peterborough section of the A47 Dave, it is heavy here now but small flakes and no covering just yet.
-
And so it begins (again) first few flakes starting to fall.

Small flakes but good intensity here to the west of Peterborough, another thin but nice covering.
Have been feeding the birds every morning this week and have just counted 22 blackbirds out there at once, must be a record. Well for here anyways.
