The band looks very large and heavy, and with it tracking largely down the coast, it won't lose too much strength either. It's possible, I reckon, for us to get a few inches at least from this, especially if, as the NMM shows, the snow band partly stalls over us in the morning. This has the potential to be fairly similar to the snow event seen in Aberdeenshire last night, if things work out well for us.

getting light snow here from the band tracking from west to east across the south of the country,

had thought it was going to skirt just to the south of prestonpans but its finally 'all' white outside for the first time this winter,

about half a cm! (except the grass in my garden which is too long for the short snow) and im excited how very sad of me.. any chance of the snow in NE making it this far?

first post in a few years...but its snowing lightly in prestonpans (east lothian). wet though, bit of a bummer, the dusting of snow that lasted all day is slowly washing away. maybe later!

looks good further west, the livingston traffic cam looks good.

[Wintry Ppn - w/c 11th December]

Following the torrential rain of the last hour, just noticed heavy sleet / snow outside. Funny thing was, I was on the BBC weather site at the time... http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/ :blink:

can confirm snow blowing around in leith (edinburgh) !!!
