Some sun this morning. Of course it's been very windy all day
Went downhill fast from late afternoon.. bands of heavy showers moving through with big gusts
Temp down to 13c
-
tested new umbrella last night, the wind blew it, inside out within seconds
umbrella's won't like western Britain tomorrow

mild night, alright, also raining, winds also gusting up close to gale force.
Reminds me of the remnants of a tropical storm in late summer

Saturday looked decent, when i looked at Met Office website, small chance of a shower, higher temps, and a sun symbol
Then i checked the winds - gusts into the 50's and even 60's !!
-
just been outside for 30 mins, it's 1c, and lots of white... yes, hail
but it's not melting very fast
This is better than anything i had back over the "winter"
Winter arrives at the end of March

went out for a walk at 2am, and despite the Moon beaming down, it still managed to rain again
after rain all last night, and all day Monday
just to put the icing on the cake, my left shoe must have a hole, and i have a wet sock
I need a vacation soon

GFS is really going for it, Easter Weekend - strong winds, heavy rain, a snow signal for Wales, parts of the Midlands, and Ireland, then pushing North, right up into Scotland
Better get, me swim trunks ready

saw a bloke walking around in a t-shirt this morning, biting east wind, and feel like temp of 0c
-
should manage 4 days of dry weather here now, unless something crops up at short notice
Saturday should hopefully only be a chance of some light rain
Finally, things should slowly start to dry out
-
saw the sun this morning, then i went outside. A biting, strong northerly wind, created a feel like temp of 0c
nice to be in the sun, but spring warmth? not yet. That wind cut through me like a knife

6 hour gap of no posts in the Mad thread, whilst it's still winter
just about sums up this winter eh?
Mind you, sleet and snow symbols are showing for the top of Dartmoor. Winter, not quite done yet

WYorksWeather I see blokes with shorts on in winter, even on the freezing days, when it hardly gets above freezing by day. I just assume they don't check themselves in the mirror before heading out.
Jacket up top, but bare, hairy, spindly legs lower down

Something called "sunshine" has returned for the past couple of days, before the wet gloom moves in again
But what happened to: "Fog" - can't remember the last time the Met put out a Yellow Fog Warning, which would be a typical thing to see in Winter, some real Pea-Soupers in the past
Got plenty of moisture in the ground, but i guess the pattern is too mobile, too much wind around
We'd defo see some though, if High Pressure settled across the Uk

These weather apps are a waste of time
24 hours ago, showed a dry & bright saturday
Just checked Alex Deakins latest forecast, Low pressure is moving right over the south-west tomorrow. Lots of showers breaking out. I see more mild, muck, light rain & drizzle is now showing for most days next week as well

Well, i'm glad to be away from the madness, rain, and nothing but rain, probably too much rain
Despite the weird shaped amber's put out by the Met Office, i always remember that most people live in the large towns and cities, with their own heat-island effects, rather than on top of hills
The highest spots could do well from it, but for most, it's one of those horrible, sleet / wet snow to rain events
Temps may start off around 1c, then gradually rise.. the drip drips are there from the start, and nothing lasts very long
May you find some enjoyment from it, if you can. This winter stinks, can't wait for Spring to arrive

The Met Office App, seems to favour a heck lot of sleet or rain symbols at the moment
Better head for the hills, if you want the white stuff

bah !! the talk of "back edge" wintry ness
But after days of close to record breaking mild, and a warm ground, lots of rain to get through first
I can't get excited about that... give me a cold spell first, some hard frosts, freeze the ground, then bring in the precip, so that it settles readily, then go out for a walk, as the sun shines on a blanket of fresh snow, and feel the "crunch" underfoot

Some expectations are sky high, after i heard people moaning about the latest Met update
I was expecting them to be saying, nothing but blow torch sw-erlies and mild everywhere
But Cold, Frost, and some Snow possibilities are mentioned
It's the Uk afterall, i wouldn't believe "snowstorm" charts until they are solid into the reliable time-frame

ok, no sustained cold is showing but today for me, a max of 7c, and getting down to 2c tonight
can still manage some cold nights, even down in the south-west
But yeah, watch the "winter" synoptics arrive sometime in March or April now
A snow-fest for Easter perhaps

Lights are flickering here SE Scotland
My lights flickered at 16:40 - the exact same time, that 73mph gust was reported on the N Cornwall coast

16:40 - first power flick - with lights going on and off
Going to make myself a hot flask - chance of power cuts

SunSean the actual wind chill just before sunrise this morning was 0c wind gusts to 60mph
as the wind slowly died down during the day, the feel like temp eventually got up to 7c
I was out in that blustery wind this morning, with a warm top on, and the wind cut through me
Still winter, jacket weather really
