The Haumont tornado has been classified EF4 by the French observatory of tornadoes and severe weather.

Some people were wounded, but there is fortunately no deaths (except some sheeps).
We are always searching for more information on the ground ; at last TEN tornadoes, probably more, occured in France in less than 12 hours

Hi all and happy new year :blush:
For the first day of 2007, west France was hit by plenty of tornadoes. There are in France about 30 tornadoes per year, but yesterday at last 6/8 tornadoes occured, probably more. We waiting for more information in the next hours, but there is strong damages in a lot of towns (Couhé (Vienne), La Genétouze (Vendée), Fougéré (Vendée), L'Hermenault (Vendée), Nieul (Vendée), St Aubin la Plaine (Vendée), Chantonnay (Vendée), Vannes (Morbilhan), Brest (Finistère)...).

Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be predominantly unsettled with a chance for isolated active periods on 16 June as a recurrent coronal hole high speed stream rotates into a geoeffective position. Isolated minor to major storming is possible on 17 June due to the effects of CME activity associated with the C4 and C7 flares on 14 June. Conditions are expected to decrease to unsettled to active on 18 June

Heayy rain and severe flooding yesterday in the french departement of the Var (on the mediterranean coast), you can see here the Météo France map with amounts of precipitations on this episode :
It's the strongest rainfall evenement recorded for this departement, and for the Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region. Some videos :
