There are a few flecks blowing about in the wind here between Crowborough and T. Wells.
-
Just driven back from Crawley to Tunbridge Wells and there was heavy snow from Crawley to East Grinstead. Even though it had been raining all day it not take long to settle. Nothing near T.Wells but from what I saw it won't be long.
-
It was snowing very finely in Crowborough this morning. Had to almost squint to see it but it was certainly snow!!

Louby and Slinky B for me but it was a close run contest for me

We were about half an hour north of Dumfries in a small village called Thornhill. I have relatives that live in Wanlockhead which is about 20 mins away, that's were I took the misty and the waterfall photo.

Can anyone explain how 2 different hurricane systems can have the same pressure value ie (950hPa) but have different wind speeds?
Thanks

After watching the Dispatches progamme on Bin Wars I was quite shocked to be told that out of all the recycling that people put out to be collected, they estimate that only 13% of it actually gets recycled. The rest of it ends up in landfill. If we are going to have a recycling I would like to see this figure improved on, otherwise it is a waste of resources.
I totally disagree with taxing on a 'pay as you go' scheme. I don't expext for one moment there will be a reduction of council tax and considering that we pay about £1800 a year for a 2 bed house with 2 people living in it, I would feel absolutely disgusted if I had to pay again to have my rubbish removed.
It would be better if the goverment did a reward scheme so they track the amount of recycling a household produces. Then again I don't like the idea of being tracked yet again.
In response to the comments about fly-tipping, I have seen it happen close to where I live and I have no doubt that it would increase if we had to pay an additional tax. It's a despicable action and ruins the countryside and someone else ultimately pays for it.

I am doing a project for my Environmental Science course and would like some past data on the average temperature in the UK. I know the Met Office has data going back to 1998 but I would like to go back further than that. Can anyone point me in the right direction so that I can obtain the data I require.
Many many thanks
Rachel

I don't quite understand what's going on.
Based on the snowforecast charts most of the south east looks to be getting rain but many folks on here mention that this is not the case. Are the snow forecast charts not showing the true picture?
-
I've got cumulus sodallus, here.
They sound very similar to the Cumulus Invisibulus that I cannot see here!
-
Looking at the snow forecast charts it seems to still be rain for the south
-
What are the chances of Tunbridge Wells seeing lying snow or will it all have melted by the time I get up at 7am?
-
I would like to say that this method of starting a new thread for each model output is great.
It's far easier to keep track of the latest without spending hours looking through the posts.
Just to keep on topic, Please please let the 12z be the godsend for the day!

Thank you very much that makes things much clearer now.
