Here comes the rain!!!!
-
impressive radar echos just to the east of Birmingham...heavy rain here atm, though strangely not even a breath of wind...very odd
I too think the weather seems very strange this evening, lightening with no thunder or rain, it's slightly eerie.

In Plympton towards Hemerdon, what about you? Haven't seen any for 30ish mins now.
Just realised, you're in Heybrook Bay. How are things now?
Heybrook Bay, right on the coast path, the last flash was behind the Mewstone, Wembury way. Absolutely hammering down now, very gusty outside as well.
Think we wrote our pieces at the same time! Gone rather quiet here for a few mins.

Tracey- are you getting this lightening? Where in the city are you?
3rd flash in 5 minutes now

Goodnight, stay safe.

No thunder but I can believe lightening in the city, my location in Heybrook Bay is right at the entrance to the Sound - opposite Rame Head. - edit that was lightening and thunder!!!!!!!!!
I am waiting for the thunder to reach us.

is there any thunder?
No there isn't, just the odd flash of sheet lightening. Saw the last one about 30 mins ago. It seemed strange with no thunder or rain accompanying it.

Yeah, hubby had problems with getting home this evening due to a lane closure on the Tamar Bridge. It's definately picking up again outside , we are quite high up so it kind of feels we are taking a bit of a battering.

It's very stormy here in Plymouth, flashes of lightening but strangely no rain! The wind is really whistling and if you go outside it's hard to grab a breath. Very exciting stuff!!!!

Plymouth - Wow, what amazing effects in the sky, thunder and lightening for the past two hours, heavy rain too. It doesn't show signs of letting up either. We live quite high so have a brilliant view from Plympton in Plymouth looking towards the River Plym. Little flashes and then massive illuminations in the sky in a blue/purple colour. Best I have seen since the 80's.
