  1. Had such a great load of snow here in Crawley (W Sussex), reminded me when out an about earlier of that quality crunchy fresh snow when me was a kid and that beautiful packed skiing snow that now seems so rare over here, and I only went skiing once aged 14, 23 years ago ! Blimey...I just scared myself .....

Anyhoo I see from radar images that bundles of deep cloud are heading west and east (from the south of course) of me with just a large empty bit where I am! I'm not going to complain because I think we have all been spoilt down here in the south BUT...anyone with more knowledge than me (not hard) prepared to stick their neck out and give me an update for my area over next 12/18 hours? Would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance, :)

  2. Aaah our postman has just been (early today  ) didn't think we would get post today. Was going to ask him to pose for a photo! Bless him his glasses were all steamed up. He's just jumped on his bike and making his merry way up the road. What a great guy!

Oh and it's started snowing quite nicely in Crawley although there was some slight melting going on the past hour or so....

  3. Hi 1st post on here although I used to be on here when it started some 4 or 5 years ago after snow watch, some may remember me as Old Johnny Alps, a complete novice at weather but a tad more savvy now (yeah right!) recent events have made me join up again. As I write really heavy snow (I am in Crawley West Sussex) but not quite as heavy as it was an hour or so ago when I was on the M23 north to Gatwick. Never seen anything like it!! Quite scary to be honest, fast lane was a snow covered no go best I could do was go 15 mph in the middle following the tracks from the car in front, which I could only just see. Hasn't snowed this hard for years and years (well not while I was awake anyway!) take care tomorrow (I have to drive to Hove for 11am)
