Southerners expect a very noisy night as all of this moves north.

I think we need to have faith, it does feel ripe "loaded gun"

Things are really kicking off in the channel
-
I am keeping eye on the cells near poole, they seem to keep rebuilding

We got a complete flop dry all day most of the storms in London and SE.
This year has been disappointing.

dans forecast was pretty much spot on, most of it to the SE and coasts.
Don't think i've seen a proper storm in years, unless i chase it.

i think the storms are going be in the SE Kent looking at the movement
-
It seems anywhere north of Southampton looks the best bet.
-
typical cells form north of Andover and produce lightning.
Storm Shield in Force.
-
Went really dark but nowt, i think if we had morning sunshine this would be a better scenario
-
its been a close but no cigar situation, most cells that pop up die away 5 mins later.
What we want is a nice big storm to move in from the channel with high lightning rates,
-
Well that was disappointing damp squib, welcome rain that went with zilch LOL couldn't make it up.
Drought in the home countries and popcorn storms that last 5 mins woowey

Looks like the risk has shifted a bit more southwards but I am not quite sure currently.
Looking at this MetO run I am just shocked. Those types of cells training over the same areas one after another would cause locally very high rainfall totals, which is what I'm sure Dan was alluding to in his forecast with the '100mm possible'.
Yeah not so much in the way of thunder or lightning but heavy bursts in a small amount of time. Disappointing but there is still time

Loads more cells just north of the IOW, these could be the ones that fire off.
-
It feels that there are all the right ingredients but no cigar, we have rain no thunder and the cells seem to be peppering up.
-
Gone very dark here in Andover cells appearing just to our south, it feels like it's going to go boom any moment.

Southern Area's haven't seen rain in Since the beginning of June.
It seems that Storms rarely hit central areas or miss out completely.
