  1. Hi after the big cell passed last night and went over into Wales we still had alot of lightning around but on Radar there was nothing, it was very strange.. Had a good show for a couple of hours, but like you said they seem to come from nothing.

Not much rain in the first storm, were a few CG strikes but hardly any rain, i know because i was stood outside. Hoping for more later on :drinks:

Did the same as you Kaz, stayed up until 1.30 but everything seemed to be moving over Exmoor/ Somerset way. Storms were moving very fast and sprung up out of nowhere! Hoping for some more later on this evening if the sun does it's stuff. lol.

  2. stayed up til 3.15 to watch. The night chasing looked absolutely awesome. I'm pretty sure that as you approached the hook, i could see (through the lightning) a funnel dropping just off to your left. I must say the footage and your dedication to get it is very much appreciated. Maybe next year i may just get to see it for myself.

  3. There are more storms trying to rush in a fill the gap across NE coast of France...come on baby!!!

Keep holding out Harry these are strong cells and if you look at Sat24 radar there is a definate hook on that cell which should bring it over your way more later on. Now what you really want is for the bigger cell off the south coast to wing it's way a little more Northwards and hook up with the Kent cell and BOOM!

  4. At last, it looks like the stalled cold front (which took a N/NW track for pretty much the whole bloody day) is finally going to clear Devon and hopefully give us a decent nights sleep! Good luck to all those storm nuts in Kent, hopefully those cells will force a path across the Channel.

  5. I'm pleased other people are convinced they are coming across the channel, because reviewing the last 2 hours worth of radar, they've not made any progress over the channel at all, in pretty much any shape or form.

The only positive thing are those cells nr Kent at the moment which actually fired up over the Channel and appear at present to be doing ok.

They look like they are going to expand as well Harry, and looking at the wind direction up your end they look to be taking a NNW track so maybe as usual you may get a nice little import later.

  6. Well so much for the torrential downpours here in Devon. At the moment it is very humid and damp with what can only be described as slight drizzle. Unfortunately the sun hasn't had a chance to get any warming underway, so it looks like this is all we're going to get today.
