UPGRADE ALERT!!!
BBC News weather, right now, snow for Bristol thru' the night. Darren Bett even mentioned Bristol as the main focus of tonight's snow.
This was a definite upgrade. White all around BTL on charts right thru' night and into morning :o :o
EDIT: Absolutely chucking it down!!! That lampost has never looked so good!!
bring it on!
-
its all far tooo east for the main stuff
I know how you feel, the bulk has moved to the East..... might get an hour of snow tops down our way/up your way. Hopefully an inch if we're lucky! Haven't seen the forecasts today, was it all meant to be further to the West?
-
Snowing here in N Bristol, sadly wont see much as the bulk has shifted to the East Hopefully see some proper snow tomorow...
-
the M4 is stopping it going any further north lol
still nothing here
Stalling by the looks of it and not fizzing out.... can only be a good thing when it eventually reaches us here. Temperature gradually decreasing, good dew points..... fingers crossed!
-
Us folks in North Bristol will obviously miss the worse of it.... seems to be trend so far. Does look interesting though, only just logged in to see the Warnings etc, hope that band expands and pushes a bit west. Wouldn't put to much faith in the Meteo Radar...
-
Tis ashame we didn't get anything else over night. Just wern't in the right position for a heavy amount, perhaps that low will swing round and go straight through to us in North Bristol (I can live in hope!)
-
Yes im a little confused, maybe it will rear its head abit in couple of hours or it will pivot alot more back this direction? just seems a lack of ppn although im sure one of the forecasts must be correct.
Wonder if any of the more experiences forecasters out there could answer this?

Still snowing here in Stoke Gifford, but my wife has just come in from work at The Mall, Cribbs...and it's much heavier up there apparently!
Read Roger smith's post in 'Tracking the French Low' thread...excellent post...and it indicates we might get a bit more tonite.
Sounds good! Had read it before but thought it was strange how the meto aren't forecasting this? Or are they?
-
Is it all over for Bristol then?
-
What about wiltshire?V.light now in North BTL. I guess we've missed that huge 'blob' that was showing on the radar 30 mins ago.
So close.... looks like Bristol Southwards is in for a good event! Keeping an eye on the movement in the South East, may be luck enough to see some showers push through to us by about Midnight

I'm UWE too. Could be chaos getting out of here this evening with that lot about to dump on us
UWE all the way! Should make oceana interesting tonight!
-
Looking hopeful! PPN slowly creaping Westwards, looking good for anywhere just south of Bristol. Should get a bit more before the end of the day, perhaps an inch at best i'm thinking
-
5 inches of snow in north west london :D not melted yet either!
-
i hope us folks in london get some of this but i'm starting to think we might only get rain/sleet.... if we did it wouldn't suprise me! but hey ho, thats a life
Hope the rest of you get a decent amount :)
-
decent snow about 5-10 cms
Yeah yeah! Believe it when i see it.....
No offence but can anyone with more weather "knowledge" answer my question?
-
North West London????
-
BBC said earlier North West London could see up to 3 or 4 inches of snow! Believe it when i see it i'm afraid........
-

The gritters policy is to grit after it gets serious...... what they don't realise is that they arn't invincible to the icy roads
-
Wet, Windy and cold.... 9.2 degrees
Suprising how metcheck predicted no rain what-so-ever for london this morning, didn't help during my paper round - got absolutely drenched

Have a look here, http://raintoday.co.uk/. From that link watch where the ppn is heading from France. Despite the direction it looks it's actually starting to head in a N/W direction. The bulk should hit anywhere from Cardiff Eastwards, will it snow further East? All down to the Temp etc
