  1. Welcome to Kettering: the driest, most unfathomably storm-free zone in all of England. I'm starting to believe there is a meteorological phenomenon associated with the area--some sort of blocking microclimate--that keeps convection from traveling or forming overhead, and I'm going to start an old wives tale about it. Even when cells are in the vicinity, they somehow manage to circumnavigate the town. No storms this year. Still.

  2. Little storm just past too the north of here, few flashes and rumbles but the threatening skies were the winner. Been some lovely structure around today!!

    Hi shogan, I'm in Kettering myself! That system certainly did just skirt the town. Some gorgeous tops appearing to the NW now, shame the storm only flirted with us. Just got a small sprinkling of hail in the SW. Barely any precip at all--it's like we've been in a 30 mile-wide atmospheric dead zone all day.
