What are Carlisle chance 2c and a dew of -2
We'll get snow I don't know how much or for how long, NAE chart showing snow even at 6pm tomorrow for us, I hope it's right.
Temp -0.6c with dewpoint of -2.8c here at the moment.

Well the end of the cold spell is certainly going out in style! Not often Cumbria experiences full on blizzards like this, utter chaos in parts of the county.
Nothing here
-
Wahoo! Snow, why is it so early thought it wasn't going to arrive until 12 at the earliest, very light here - I don't care how light as long as it's snow
-
-
Certainly potential for the whole NW region to get snow cover, further north you are the stronger the winds will be.
Do you think there's a good chance we could get an inch here?
-
Evening peeps: Tomorrow night's ppn has been pushed eastward on this evenings GFS on its initial approach so most of us South of Cumbria area seeing another dusting a best. Once its moves norths it "cuts west sending heavy ppn into Cumbria area and possibly to the regional area north of say Preston.
I find absolutely festering mental how the Heavy PPN is continually shown south of my area then skirts round me before cutting back West. Very weird and bloody annoying.
Here's what I suspect will happen:
So I guess you guessed completely wrong Snowmad79? or maybe I missing something.

I really don't understand this, it's been really quite windy all day today but for the past few hours it's almost been deadly calm with a real silence outside, the tops of the trees are barely moving, any idea why technical weather wise? I know it's supposed to be at it's worst tomorrow afternoon but I wasn't expecting it to get so calm first.
-
Anyone? sorry to be a pest, I think I might need to sign up to the radar service soon.
-
Oh well looks like that's my snow for tonight. Any idea if there will be any more tomorrow?
Lazy of me to ask but I don't have time to check things out more, I need to get some sleep.
Cheers

LOL the only time Metoffice decide to put a pathetic warning out for a potential 1-3cm of snow for this area instead of their usual standard 3-5cm in the past this winter - where we'd end up with either nothing or a pathetic amount, & this time it turns out to be a lot more than any other time, keep up with the low predictions Metoffice, they seem to bring good look, the weather likes telephone boxing with you it seems.

WOW!!!! the snow is fantastic here now, flakes are massive & coming down very nicely indeed, laying real fast already a nice cover, looks like this could be the most snow of the year so far here, if it carries on like this for much longer.
-
radar says 100% snow in carsisle.
radar says NO here
lol
lol, the temp has risen here & it's currently stuck at -0.5c & it's just started snowing here, flakes are a nice size but it's quite light, but settling nicely.
-
Anyway, although its not heading this way, the precipitation over Carlise is showing as snow on the radar but has been reported as rain - a bit worrying for later.
Well I'm a a little south of Carlisle & though it's still raining here at -1c Carlisle started with freezing rain too so hope things will follow same path here. I've been checking a cam in Carlisle & it has been falling as snow there for the past hour or so, must be pretty light as there doesn't seem to be that much, but it looks consistent.
-
Anyone any idea if this bloody freezing Rain will continue or might I get some snow later? It's quite moderate too so would be awesome if only it fell as snow.
Temp currently -1c
-
Arrived here 5 minutes ago & although the temp here is a steady -1.6c after rising from -3c in the last hour sadly we have rain atm.
-
Just started snowing heavy here now, I can't believe our luck so far, can only see clouds to our West it's looking good. From what I gather we are due some more this afternoon & tonight, not sure why MetO doesn't have any warning for Cumbria?
-
my showers are heading towards you, about 730 we had heavy hail which turned to snow and one flash of lightning which lit up all the lying snow/hail blue!! with a big thunder crack
I hope so, thanks for the heads up, I'm so excited now, gonna get ready to head out & take a walk, the lighting combined with snow sounds dream like.
-
I can't believe this it's snowing again real big fluffy flakes & a cm has already settled very nicely in the past 10 minutes, it's coming down quite heavy, temp is 0.6c, I guess the bbc were actually right with the heavy snow shower but it's almost 2 hours late.
-
Yay! temp dropped rapidly in the last 10 minutes now at 1.9c & still falling, & it's just started snowing lightly.
-
Wow james where was that taken? We just got a measly cm over night, looks immense.
-
We have some dark clouds coming over from the West now, though sadly temps are 3.8c it was sleeting/hail just half an hour ago & still got most the snow lying.
-
Ok so we've had another cm of snow fall in the last 30 minutes, temps currently at a steady 1.2c but it appears to be more sleety/hail outside right now, the road is covered again wahoo.
-
Here's our new friend created this afternoon!
That's a good effort, I love the facial details
-
Don't have rain or snow here at the moment, luckily the last rain shower never lasted long enough to diminish any of the lying snow, temp at 1.6c praying whenever the precipitation hits next it snows, I'm real jealous of Osbournes situation, you always do well.

I wouldn't bet on that, snow here still & going to get heavier really soon (I hope), I'm not expecting rain for at least a few hours.
Temp of 0.8c & depoint of -1.9c
