Heavy snow here in South Brum since about 3.00 but not sticking yet

Quite Heavy here in Northfield South Brum. Cars,roofs and grass covering already and starting to take hold on the pavements

Wind must be ESE as this front is just moving at a snail pace north. We could still get 6 more hours out of this, if it does not fizzle out.

Heavier now here, but still small flakes. Tom Shaff on Countryfile Weekly forecast did not mention this region at all for the whole weekly forecast!!!!, massive SE bias again taking hold, what a surprise !.

Looking at the Brugge Market Square live webcam, the type/size of snow seems the same as we are getting at the moment, so maybe no real heavy snow will come out of this,just a thought!

Snowing moderately here but only small flakes, looking at the radar could get a few hours of this looks like its pushing nw, there's some heavy stuff around the se looking at the radar
Yes just thinking the same. Radar shows this front stretching back into North West Belgium and down to Rouen in France! so quite a sizable issue
And as you say at the moment it is moving NW and slowly intensifying. Very interesting few hours coming up for us in the W Mids. -

Well its been snowing chiefly light with the odd slight heavier burst since I came home from work at 4 ! Only about a 1 cm at best. Still a great base for the action later.As this front stalled and grown over us as I cannot see any obvious movement in any direction?

Local Central news at 6-30 saying yellow warning for snow but showing a sleet shower symbol for Friday ???? Here we go again !!!

Moderate snow in SW Brum, starting to cover paths and cars again. All coming from a stream of showers from the NW.

Wow good stuff. Have a mate that commutes on the train from your town each day into Brum, Will I see him tomorrow now I wonder LOL Let's hope the front stalls over us. Heavier here now !

Just a heads up, I think we're all obsessed in the radar , Iv had a look on the nae 12 , and the bbc predicted ppn chart , they both show an intensification from 9 tonight , the bbc has a good defined line over us all at midnight, the nae also has a broadish area from midnight till 6am, so I think it's a case of patience?!
I take your point about the nae but are we not seeing then 'real' thing via radar ? and indeed those on the in depth thread always state to watch radar at the time of the event.

God I hope they are wrong about tomorrow!!
LOL I've got 35mm slides from the 80's which comfort me in these dire(snow wise) times. Actually quite heavy here at the moment and the 8-45 Rain Today frame as lost all our precip in one go !!!! Hope Friday's possible event will redeem us.

Still light snow here in S Brum. Radar seems to show the band weakening and fragmenting a little, can't see much from this.

Looking at all the updates and current data output.and taking on board Ian F's latest, I'm getting pretty worried as my wife and I have to travel on public transport at 6-20am tomorrow in South Birmingham ! This looks a dodgy time in this neck of the woods, should we delay folks ??
