We have four suddenly appeared across the water at Tilbury.Got 26 wind turbines 4 miles from my house on the marsh, got to admit they look quite stunning when the evening sun hits them
-
But at least it's sunny today, not that grey gloomy cloud cover. We have some brightness to be thankful for.The awful weather continues in this part of kent, cold dry conditions causing severe moodswings!
Even the snow didn't like us

Ouch!!! I've just bumped my nose on the monitor screen!Right, this is no good at all. A tonic is required!
Bring your face right up to your screen or monitor and play this HD clip:

The wind has suddenly picked up here, and looks quite dark overhead.

Unless people have a phobia, often, they do not understand. You're in good company in here.Hi SL
It's awful isn't it? But a phobia is an irrational fear. People tell me not to be so silly, but it can't be helped.
Yep I close all of my blinds during the day, and have to put the light on at night. It's not nice

Skylarks? I didn't think we had that many on the marshes? As the weather is fairly quiet I thought I would take you on my walk this morning across the flooded marshes near to my house. Essentially marshes here are managed by way of drainage ditches to provide both arable and grazing land.
As you can see just using the footpath north out to the marshes was difficult this morning as the drainage ditches have flooded over the path in places and yes I got wet feet, should have worn wellies instead of boots!
This is the view back with my house in the distance, the flooding you can see is actually on arable land which was ploughed and planted in the autumn, this flooding to one degree or another has been present now since November and so must have destroyed the crop.
Several building companies have applied to build on the arable land you see flooded here, thankfully all have fallen through either due to the high cost of drainage and flood defences or by opposition from the Met police who took over the old Gravesend Sea School some years ago and use it for terrorist training amongst other things, sounds like WW3 some days!
Further east the marshland is used for grazing for cattle and horses, again flooded.
The whole area is alive with birds which suits me as apart from being a weather nut I am also a nature nut really. See hawthorn blown over due to soft ground and a sign of winter, a tree full of Fieldfares, honest that's what those black dots are but at the same time a sign of spring, skylarks were singing overhead. Also the most snow I could find left.
Walking back south off the marsh with that strong wind now in my face it decides to rain, typical! and on my way home horses having lunch and of course a donkey to finish!
Hope you enjoyed my walk! - Sorry mods more like a book than a post!

Would like to flag up the real brains behind Tuesdays Cheltenham winning tip! Having scoured the form book(Regional Thread), for the piece of form that undoubtedly pointed to Champagne Fever having an excellent chance, I stumbled across said entry:

Am doing the happy (champagne infused) snow dance! Having a lovely Mothers day, supping champagne and no one, I repeat, NO ONE is moaning at me for flicking through radars, monitoring NW threads etc happy days!
I've also just made another bet with my brother that he will get a snow day either Monday or Tuesday (he's a teacher), probably a bit hasty, but some child keeps topping up my glass.....
Just prepared the kitchen for this evening's meal. . Roast Chicken with honey roasted vegetables, roast potatoes and red wine gravy. Oh and some chilled vino of course. All that is needed afterwards is some snow

A clear pointer to that nags chances! Having said at lunchtime that I hadnt had time to look at todays racing, imagine my horror when I spied this, VINO GRIEGO (4.00 Chelt), with no way of informing the Reg.Thread, allied to the fact that a few of our "warm" clients had backed it, I feared the worst. Sure enough, coming to to the last fence the "missed tip" closed in on the leader and looked a surefire winner, only to be outstayed up the Cheltenham by a 50/1 shot.
Never underestimate a womans intuition, when it comes to picking horses and had I put the card up for Champagne Fevers' race, have no doubt that the ladies would have picked him anyway.
So Mr.Stun if you're about, its not me you owe that drink to but Nikki and Tamara (or should I say, Miss Raceform and Miss Timeform).
Now I wonder if there's any coincidence bets tomorrow?

There is a colony of the at Cobham Hall grounds, where hubby goes fishing bjay.Collard Doves doing the same in our garden chasing everything out, started building their nest two cold spells ago now, hope that didn't lay any eggs before the cold this week. Lots of frogs and newts around last weekend, hopefully they went to the bottom of the pond before it got cold. Those ring-necked parakeets are very nice and colourful but boy are they noisy, don't have many down this way but where my sister lives in Bexley it's all you ever hear.

BBC forecast mentioned thundersnow tomorrow, the lightening bolt graphic was right in my neck of the woods. Bring it on!
-
The local forecast and the nationwide forecast were completely different on breakfast time this morning.Have to say the BBC (South East) have been rubbish again in my view. What frustrates me most is that whenever i watch the local forecast the presenter's priority seems to be to deliver the forecast as quickly as is humanly possible. I appreciate not everyone is as obsessed with cold and snow as the majority of us but surely a bit of recognition for what was undoudtedly a significant event for some of us yesterday wouldn't go amiss?

Oh my goodness! Five minutes of snow and side roads are getting really bad.
Suppose to go out in about an hour, having second thoughts...

Yep, blizzard here too!Wow, true blizzard atm

Send the day in Margate where it was extremely foggyGlad to see i'm not the only one insane enough to cut the grass and tidy the garden today, sadly I do it every time there is a chance of snow LOL. Must admit smell of freshly cut grass did make me think of spring.
Spent part of the day down at Herne Bay with my youngest daughter as it is half term, glorious blue skies and unbroken sunshine, walked along the front and beach skimming a few stones, sat on the sea wall and ate saveloy and chips and watched the world go by, the sea was like a mill pond, thankfully the sea fog mainly covered up the wind farm. See a couple of pictures below.
Anyway enough of spring, looking forward to a very cold and hopefully snowy end to the week.
