Plenty of cloud based flashes South of Ashford. Not heard any thunder yet.

Seriously not looking forward to Mon/Tues. Waiting on a H&S briefing from Royal Mail to see what’s happening. My shift don’t start until 11.30am and I spend from 13.30 until 19.00 in a van with no air con

Don’t know about anyone else but today has left me totally exhausted. Sat at home until 3pm waiting for the huge eucalyptus tree in my garden to fall and take out some houses. Thankfully it never happened. I was relieved to be called into work at 3pm, 5 hours later than normal just so I could relax a bit, though driving 25 miles to work in the wind and dodging debris was far from relaxing. Just glad it’s over.

I asked my boss yesterday what the plan was for Friday. He said he’ll let me know when I get in at 11am . Not looking forward to the drive from Ashford to Maidstone. I’ve been really nervous of gales after 87 as I lived up near Sevenoaks. One thing he did tell me yesterday was to use 2hold on to the door with both hands when getting out of the van and use the side door I really do think he had absolutely no idea of what’s coming.

Just had a 30 second bit of rain and it went back to sunshine
You must’ve been right on the edge of it. 10/15 minutes of the heaviest rain I’ve seen in a long time.

More thunder rumbling away.
Have you seen that rain? It’s like monsoon season out there.

No way was it near Tenterden though, I was looking towards Ashford when I saw the lightning.
I’ve just had another look at it and it hit out towards your way.

Holy SH*TI JUST HAD THE LOUADEST THING I'VE HEARD, MY SCREEN FLASHED FROM IT AND IT SOUNDED AS IF A FUEL TANKER EXPLODED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE
I heard that aswell. Didn’t see any lightning but I wasn’t looking. It came up on Blitzortung as a strike near Tenterden.

So far I’ve had an hour of constant thunder. The rain hasn’t made an appearance yet. Looks like it’s going to get more severe here shortly as it appears to be knocking on the door of Ashford.

I was in Maidstone yesterday it was horrendous. Heavy rain for nearly 3 hours, roads flooded, constant thunder. Got back to Ashford last night and it looked like it had been dry all day.

I'm out delivering parcels in Maidstone. It's been raining for over 2 hours now. Started hearing thunder about 90 minutes ago and it's not stopped. Had the windows open in my van slightly as it was misting up. As I drove along a country lane there was an almighty flash of lightning to my left and an instantaneous clap 9f thunder. Think I may need to change my underwear when I get home!

Just received a Flood Alert text from Floodline. Just hope it doesn’t get upgraded as I’m off to work in a minute so I won’t be around if anything happens.

Just had a couple of rumbles here and some impressive looking flashes eastwards towards Hythe.

Just started raining in Ashford. Lights keep flickering for some reason. More likely a fault than some impending storm so no doubt I’ll be left without any power soon.

Just taken the cover off the gazebo as I don’t fancy retrieving that from a neighbours garden tomorrow. My cousin in Worthing has just told me it’s heavy rain down there at the moment.

Blizzard condition here in Margate. Been snowing most of the day.
That reminds me when I worked at Margate Delivery Office, must’ve been 1990/91. I had to cycle out to Garlinge in a blizzard to start the delivery. Thought I was going to die of hypothermia. Luckily nowadays I can retreat to my van.

Just had an awesome blizzard go through here, was starting to cover everything!
Then it *** stopped again!!
It’s stopped here. I’m near the Outlet. I was expecting it to be really windy today but it’s been pretty calm apart from the odd breeze.

Just watching the forecast on BBC News and she said 25cm +. I think she’s missed out the decimal point in between those figures for my location. Even the snow on my car is starting to disappear.

Not much happening here in Ashford after some initial heavier bursts this morning. It’s still not windy, perhaps we are being sheltered by the Downs.

Just had a storm come through, the rain and wind were intense. It’s calmed down now but I’ve a feeling that one in the channel will be heading this way aswell.
