OH has a bit in Salisbury. Nothing here yet.
Hi katemart. Hope you're well.
Hi jtay, not bad at all thank you. Lovely to see the same old names
Ooh, we've had a few grains in the wind but definitely getting a bit flakier now! 2.4, DP -2.7C. WB 0.7C.
I should have been very disappointed having been promised a 95% chance of snow for the past 24 hours if we hadn't had any.- 2

Soon to discover if Salisbury Plain will provide impetus or suck the life out of the precipitation.
I've often noticed that happening with ppn coming from the NW. I'd be interested to know if it happens from the East as well.

Bloody sunny and a clear blue sky!
Cancelled a meeting today "because of the snow" as well! #HeadDesk- 1

-5C again this morning at 08.30. Beautiful sunshine but certainly feels a lot colder than 0.4C right now!
I know it's gonna be expensive but I am glad to see the warm and wet spell isn't progged to last more than a couple of days - can't bear mild Christmasses!
Stay safe, everybody! x
PS: maybe I'll wait for those warm days to go into the loft for my decs!

20 mins of wet snow. Sticking only on the iciest patches. Blue sky over west. -1.2C.

Morning all! And a happy, snow-covered one to you all.
Was amazed to see Bournemouth taking a pounding this morning on the radar - and good to see your pics of a half-inch of the white stuff It's not exactly Buffalo-style drifts but I still get excited. Ridiculous for an old bird like me.
Coldest night of this spell so far at -5.8c. Now - 2.5 and rising. No ppn yet.

-5.6c just before 8am this morning and a beautiful sunny, frosty start.
Not relishing the idea of venturing out in it, but shopping is required.
Have fun and stay warm, everybody!

-6.1c here. Lovely and crispy underfoot!
I thought of you when I saw that Benson was -9 last night, Frosty.
Toally crazy temps here in suburban Southampton: -5.3C this morning and looks likely we will approach that again tonight. Currently -4.7C.
If this breaks down without producing any of the white stuff I shall thcweam and thcweam...!

Distinct orangey-pink tinge to the cloud over Southampton this morning.
9.4C, winds calm, humidity 92%

Finally hearing some wind in the trees and the temp is falling away too, having popped up to 3C in the rain band. Wind chill has been as much as - 4. Slight dampness on the ground but no whiteness if any sort. Looks like showers over the Bristol channel will be the only chance of snow in our region before dawn.

Hard to believe it's going to be cold enough for any white stuff tonight, with Southampton reaching a sultry 8.6C at lunchtime.
HOWEVER, I shall still be lamppost watching with anticipation tonight.
Looking forward to chatting nonsense with you all later. Hope everybody is OK? xxx

How are everyone’s temps? I’m on the iow and temps still 3c dew point 0.9c are we all expecting temps to drop later? Or stay the same during the night?
1.3C in Soton and falling slowly. DP -1.4C so I guess it's on a knife edge. Not sure if the drizzle approaching will warm things up or not?
Edit: The green blobs in the centre of the blobs would seem to indicate that the heavier rain can lower the temps so that bodes well. Wouldn't it be nice to have cold and ppn at the same time?!

A Google news alert tells me that Accuweather are predicting snow in Kent on the 19th December so that's a GO for ramping. (How I miss Snowfan!)
Hope all at Newtweather remain well. Work is darn hectic but hope to be able to join in before too long. Love to all x

Stopped here - hopefully temporarily as I'm really hoping to take my daughter's dog for his first walk in the snow.
Let the long night of lamppost watching commence!
