Been under a static yellow radar return for a couple of hours now in Dorking - must have a few inches and well and truly makes up for last night’s effort.
-
Joined the party again, thank goodness. Snow pepping up now in Dorking and settling. Temp falling steadily (0.6c/ DP 0.3c).

Has been absolutely tanking it down in Holmbury St Mary since 3pm. One mile down the road on thea25 and into Dorking....naff all.. may have changed now of course?
If only! I’ve even been able to see the edge of your band of snow from my top room. Even less snow heading east towards Reigate. Snowing a little now in Dorking.

Certainly beginning to look good for us!! I had to drive into Dorking at about half 3 this afternoon. The lying snow from Tuesday petered out just outside westcott... But was flipping cold, never got over 2 in either direction
Hello to fellow Dorkinians. Yes, good to be in on the action this evening!

Snow flakes mixed in with rain in Dorking but rain if anything heavier now and car outside entombed in ice!
-
Freezing rain here in Dorking making a real racket now hitting my Velux windows and leaving a thin coating of ice. Temp -1.7c, DP -2.5c.
-
Snow getting pretty heavy in Dorking. Really hoping that I finally get enough snow to turn my front lawn more white than green!

A sudden band of light snow has appeared where you and I and some others are.
And the tongue of snow to the north of Horsham is now producing some light stuff in Dorking.

I actually went up to Epsom for an appointment today - left a very sunny Dorking behind to arrive for the onset of a very heavy shower. We often get more than others but not this time.
I am staying in Leatherhead tomorrow so I can be closer to the M25, just in case the snow hits hard on Thursday night/Friday.
I also got some unexpected deep snow where I was staying on the 26th/27th December last year so at least I have seen some this winter!
Fingers crossed your plan will work and you will get to see some decent snow followed by hassle-free travel!

Think we really have been the only part of Surrey not have been invited to the party!
Hopefully we'll receive the invites tomorrow! Feels so wrong to be looking out at the bare slopes of Denbies and Box Hill when London is smothered!

Yep, we have been a little out of the picture. I would like to say that I am happy about the lack of disruption as I have so much work to do before going on holiday on Friday (or perhaps not). But then I would be lying to myself...
Haha! Yes, it's quite challenging putting a positive spin on Dorking's comparative lack of snow, especially since Leatherhead and Epsom joined the party today!

Just travelled by train from London to Dorking. Everywhere white until we got out of the tunnel under the North Downs. Looking at radar, seems like there’s a noticeable snow shadow to the south of the downs. Hopefully tomorrow will make up for it!

At long last Dorking is turning white. Been snowing for a while with some intense bursts.

Just had a very light snow shower here. A pleasant surprise. Radar shows it's very isolated.

Freezing rain shower here 10 minutes ago, so snow drought continues.

Just got home and measured the snow. Very pleasantly surprised to have 14cm! Surrey's hit gold again this winter.

At 8am this morning in Dorking I was surprised to get caught in a heavy sleet shower, which was mainly snow with large flakes. Only lasted a couple of minutes but a nice surprise!

Thanks. Yes, it was worth the wait for today. Hope we get some action replays in the coming weeks.
