Wouldn't rely too much on the GFS...I'm expecting next to nothing here in MK. This system seems to be am M4/M3 area event initially then moving WSW. I think we will be too far north to see much from this system...hope I'm wrong though

It almost appears to be panic forecasting from the BBC etc. Within the space of only 5 hours this weather system appears to have changed tack from an initial front coming from the north to the south followed by a secondary front (possibly heavy snow) following behind by about 15hrs.
It now appears that the main snow band is coming from the west(!) and tracking slightly NE and hitting the central southern midlands first! An amazing change in such a short time frame and quite honestly I can only assume they are covering all their bets so that when someone gets a foot of snow they can roll out one of their many forecasts that showed exactly that occuring (conveniently forgetting all there other incorrect ones)!
Call me a cynic!

Here in Milton Keynes we are still having very light snow...amazing really...snow house has been built big enough for my 13 & 10 year old!!!

It’s freezing in Milton Keynes but I am sweating on the snow chances. Looks like it’s a close run thing for us.
