  1. I was there two years ago at the end of May. Weather was awful. Streets were literally rivers. Worst holiday ever.

    Hope it's better for you.

    Hi,

Well I do hope it's better, lol.

Guess I am going to have to sit untill about a week from the holiday before I or anyone else can judge what it's going to do. :)

hey! i'm also goig to salou for two weeks from the 18th. The general synoptic situation to me suggests that the mid atlantic ridge will be in situ for quite a while yet which suggests that it won't be too hot as there will probably be a northerly wind. It is far too early though to make any prediction.Thats my thinking anyway, but i hope there will be some nice storms.biggrin.gif

    Hi,

Cool, i'm hoping it's hot with some good storms, but I did read on my travels that the end of august to mid september is the best time for storms, but we can hope. :)

  2. Hi,

I have booked a 2 week holiday at cap salou in spain for me and my family, however is it at all possible to let me know what the weather is going to be like?

Holiday is from 29th June to 13th July (2010).

I know it's a bit early to ask really, lol.

Mods: Sorry if I have put this in the wrong forum, please move it. :)

  3. Hiya,

It's partly cloudy weather, Clouds tend to trap (some) heat beneath them. You are right in that there is some sea air in there, and the North Sea is about 6C, so air temp above it is modified by the sea, BUT, the sea track (length of time actually over the sea) and the windspeed itself also have an effect -- it's why Jan 87 was so good here, high wind speed, reasonable track, the wind picked up moisture off the sea, but was moving fast enough to not pick up too much heat.

So we could do with more wind then. :good:

  4. Could anybody please explain why it is getting warmer when there is a biting Easterly coming across? :good: I do not understand this being a rank novice. :D

I personally think (don't hold me to it) that it is a combination of warmer sea air and the clouds, i think we could do with either moderate snow or no clouds to help keep the temps down.

However i am not 100% sure the above is true, hopefully someone with more knowledge will let us know, lol.

  5. I hpe you get a foto like this one from the very top.

    Good luck

Yeah defently taking the camera this time for pics (the views alone are out of this world if it's a clear day).

Last time i climbed it was twice in one day and once the following day when i was 14 then once when i was 15, but i am sure the path is harder now than back then (about 15 years ago), or im just getting to old, lol.

Temp now reading just over 0c (i'd guess around 0.3c) - should it be going up.... :pardon:

  6. Hi,

Ben Nevis is well nice at the top, walked up there 2 years ago with my little one (he was 5 then), although it did take him a while to get there he done it. never got a pic though because i left my camera in the tent. :p

He wants to go back this year so fingers crossed we can (waterfalls should be very nice with this ammount of snow on the mountains).

Back to the weather: We had a very light snow flurry about 10 mins ago (nothing on the radar though), only lasted about 5 mins.

Temp is around 0c (thermometer not that good - soz), and it is fairly breezy now compared to a couple of hours ago.
