If it's the one I've just had you're in for a treat!Gone very dark here again. Looks like another one on its way.
-
Tunbridge Wells taking a bit of a battering. I've had to postpone leaving work because the rain is so bad and I don't want to miss all the storms!
-
Edit: Although Sheppey was strangely out of the Lightning Zone - Feel for you James!
Tell me about it!!
Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club's one has a few, but it seems quite inaccurate... http://www.iossc.org.uk/weather/index.php?n=7Not a single lightning detector has anything around here....Euclid, NW, MetO....!?!?!?!? Is this some weird War of the Worlds stuff going down????? -
Anything for us swampies? It should die down a bit for an hour or so leading up to the main event.
-
This is pretty much my view right now, except a bit higher up...

Nothing!
-
I'm watching this from the Isle of Sheppey. Lots of flashes towards the Isle of Grain area, but not close enough to hear the thunder!
-
3 rumbles in the past 10 mins in Tunbridge Wells and a massive one just overhead that knocked my Internet off!
-
Cheers for that, surprised the figure isn't a bit higher, must be some places that took a soaking - Cambridge seemed to cop a lot.
Yeah it seems a tad conservative tbh, from looking out my window at work there was MUCH more than that!
-
Does anyone have any idea how much rain fell in that lot then, must be some impressive accumulations in some places?
10mm in Tunbridge Wells according to http://www.tunbridgewellsweb.com/weather/

Looks like another beefy one coming over the Estuary now...
Seems like it, to quote my GF on the isle of sheppey:
****, that wass the biggest ****load of thunder ive ever heard!!!!!!!it was literally right on top of us! it scared the **** outta me!
-
Huge strike near me, saw the flash and the thunder clap hit literally a second later! :o
-
Very heavy rain out of nowhere in TW now! Bring it on!!!
-
Not bad was it Paul.
Maybe one more cell coming through Brighton into Tunbridge and on to us, before it all comes to an end.
Think it's just hitting TW now
-
Now loud claps of thunder in Tunbridge Wells with one every 30 seconds or so
-
Hmm increasing rumbles in the distance again and the lights just flickered, getting darker too
-
Dangerous storm
I can believe it, the storm was immense around Tunbridge Wells!
-
UPS just paid for itself in one hit, power went off for about a second!
Amazing stuff here
-
Anyone else in Tunbridge Wells / Tonbridge will be getting an utter treat at the moment, and wherever the path of this bit of the storm is going too, enjoy! Hope the internet holds out, my UPS should keep the PC running though!
-
Holy ****. 3 strikes right above us in the last couple of mins, I was on the phone at the time of one of them and it cut out! (luckily its an ISDN system not standard phonelines otherwise who knows!)
Never heard thunder so loud
-
Here is the thunder I spoke of earlier
Amazing, and as I watched it and heard your thunderclap I had a pretty large one here too, almost like a reply!
-
Looks like 5pm in the middle of November here at the moment!
-
Well that was all a bit rubbish. heavy rain the odd rumble and one flash. Hope better is on the way later
So long as it waits for me to get home, I'll be too tempted to storm chase if it happens when driving home and I have a pub quiz tonight!
-
VERY LOUD cracks in TW now
-
Couple more rumbles in TW and the sky's pretty dark
