Game on!!
and another two according to Blitzortung. Looks promising but still probably not the main event.

The most sensible advice has to be....Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
Being an extreme weather lover I would have to say "Prepare for the worst and hope for the worst" I am sorry if this offends anyone but I am just being honest.

Watching in horror, as the blast of outflow from the Northern France MCS is killing off home grown convection in large section of the SE. Not satisfied with getting all the storms, the French send an MCS to deprive us of ours !

France awash with thunderstorms and the UK has none. A strange sense of Deja Vu has come over me.

Looks like for once the french storms didn't roll off to the East like they usually do. Apologies and delight.

Looks like my storm magnet is working lol as the storms in France r heading my way
You wish ! NE France/Belgium is where they are heading, if anywhere.

Oh good, I am almost certain it was thunder.
Good luck.
Russ.
I have just come back from beachy head (couldn't resist it) I left at 00 .10 am and saw flashes on my way there always in front of me. About 1 every 5 minutes for half an hour. Got there and waited.... and waited.... and....half an hour went by and absolutely nothing except 5 mins later the torrential rain began. After 25 mins my wife called me and said she had seen a flash from Henfield. I set off for home, rain still intense when.. Flash !! big bright explosion to my right. Stopped, rolled down my window and heard a long peel of thunder about 5 secs after the flash.
Seen nothing since then, all the way home.

I herd thunder twice in the Channel to my SE just over 1 hour ago. The radars don't show it but It couldn't have been a plane, unless it was running rough and the pilot was turning the engine on and off and up and down, plus I felt the vibration
Russ
Looking at Blitzortung, I think some action is brewing in the channel south of East Sussex right now. Correction. Further East, off the Kent coast.

The models are split on wether this is going to happen or not. Your best bet is to stay tuned to this thread and watch http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en to see strikes in real time.
