I was just wondering has anyone put a bet on for a white christmas in the UK?
Does it need to snow on the 25th or does the snow lying count as a white christmas? Have a few quid on but am not sure

I expect the shower activity in NI may die down soon as the rain from the south moves north just a guess really.
Probably. Seein frequent flashes of sheet lightning with this second storm that is passing over. Rainfall is quite intense.
-
Been rumbling away past hour on the east coast of NI. Very heavy rain starting up again.
-
Think I goin lose power soon. Tv keeps switchin off and on and the lights keep flickering. Sleeting away on the coast in last half hour
-
It was startin to snow in Ballymena on way home, startin to lie a bit on the shanes hill so the cold air diggin further east. Away from coasts it could be epic
-
Problem is the wind comin off the Irish sea at mo keepin the temps up and fallin as rain or sleet - yet 2miles up the road more inland it is snowing away. Once the wind eases after 6 I could see a good dumping for places
-
I can see it settling tonight. Could be quite heavy as well
-
The aul shanes hill is impassable. Tried to get to Ballymena but had to turn back, never seen it so bad with heavy snow. Just sleet to lower levels at mo amazing what a bit of height does. And it wasn't even that far up so I think it will turn to snow down at lower levels soon!

Tomorrow evening into Saturday morning looks interesting. Probably rain/sleet but you never know.

Be snow on east coast cause the easterly wind died down! Damn why is it when it blows we always get sleet - Well not tomorrow night. May get a covering like last weekend
-
Met office called it right here on east coast with sleet and rain. Melted all snow that was lying from few days ago. Let see what the weekend will bring.
-
Whiteout here in Antrim. Wonderful
we have wet snow right on the east coast - told you will see the best action inland round Antrim!
Hope still lyin tomorrow morn I have to go work up Aldergrove lol! Or maybe get a day off haha!
-
Looking at the forecasts looks fantastic for the north west.
Looks better for the east tbh. Wouldn't like to be ramblin up the Mournes or Slemish later on
-
If I don't need a spade to dig out in the morning I know who to blame.
Well look south at the radar - That is the main band that should drop a few cm's as it intensifies over the North overnight!
Plus is the main band headin North east maybe hit round Belfast area if you follow it on radar - Can't see much for the North West or am I wrong?
-
In all fairness every weather report from earlier was sayin the heavy snow would move in around 2am - 6am in places. This is just the light precip need heavier stuff to fall. So don't give up just yet -

Starting to settle on the roads now.
Your in the best positon being inland to see anythin significant. I remember goin work or Aldergrove at times with rain on east coast and turn to snow readily the further inland you get.taf since u close! Lookin good

Complete whiteout at sea level - Snow is heavy! Ballygally beach is white - Must be gettin a good dumping up the aul shanes hill
-
Well this is a suprise - it is snowing heavy down on the east coast!
LoL look at radar talk about local! Bout time some precip hit me. Stranraer looks like gettin the worst!
-
Very cold and dry this morning.
Sundays snowfest has of course gone south into the ROI. Any heavy snow for me no shown for Wednesday, with a 35cm blizzard, will be interesting to see if this tracks south also nearer the time.
The met office has a watch warning out for Wednesday. Though precip prob miss the North yet again lol.

Had a slight coverin from early this morn. Just hail now with the showers clippin the east coast. Quite heavy tho
-
Snowin away on east coast of Norn Iron started after 1am when I had to go pick a few peeps from Cairndhu golf club - Still snowin away the Irish sea is kickin up some hefty showers!
-
Snowin away here at sea level and lying even on the coast road!
