Well, that Exacta Weather forecast would be cracking for us coldies, not too cracking for the gas bill however
Still, a very long way off as yet
-
Ours was put on for the first time autumn/winter 2013/2014 this morning, just to take the edge off the cool (16c), now a comfortable 20c
-
Looks like a shower about to hit here.
Very slippery on small roads and estates now.
Roads in Spennymoor are dreadful, compact snow/ice on many roads, gritters don't seem to have come round as yet.
Still the odd bit of snow coming down and there is a small covering
Here's hoping we wake up to a nice covering in the morning
Currently lamppost watching

Snow out towards Corbridge
Beautiful picture izi, I've just been sent a pic from a friend up at Frosterley and it's a similar scene, very nice
-
I left Ferryhill for Aycliffe this morning dressed in full winter gear because of what you've described, but it hasn't amounted to much really. A little snow/hail on grass, nowt on pavements or roads, and still pretty damp. Got some snow pellets this morning out of a couple of showers, but very short-lived.
HaHa Sorry for the disapointment neforum2, was not my intention to mislead, was best in Spennymoor when I got up, Aycliffe snow isn't amounting to much at all, I'm hoping Spennymoor is fairing a bit better, though if Ferryhill isn't doing too good I doubt it.
BBC has placed Saturday as V.light snow or rain and now moved the snow to Monday, so we could be in for a fair wait for any proper falls.
Fingers crossed we don't miss out
11:21am - very light snow again in Aycliffe, not resting
P.S. neforum2, nice website, like the pics

Had some nice big flakes coming down around 7am this morning in Spennymoor, just minutes after heavy hail, which left a light dusting, at work now in Aycliffe and it's very fine snow/sleet which isn't making any impact, currently 1.9c based from:
http://newtonaycliffe.metsite.com/
I'm hoping some of our southern snow fans get some good pictures to share with us, and here's hoping we get something on Saturday, looking like we're missing out again *Shakes fist at snow clouds*

I'd be happy with a couple of inches of snowy goodnees, lets hope that either the Easterly or the Northerly can deliver, be nice on the run up to Christmas
-
HaHa I like it
-
11C, Cloudy, bit dull
-
I thoroughly enjoyed your forecast SS1, and I'm pleased to see plenty of early Christmas spirit/support for SS1's first forecast, which, as has already been said by many, has just as much chance of coming off as any other, certainly better than any forecast I could come up with.
I'm keeping the faith that the North East will get loads of snow this Winter
-
Think I'll go for -18.9C, somewhere in Scotland
-
Thank you Mr 2281.
LOL.
Granular, almost Haily type snow now
-
Temperature remains stable here in Aycliffe at 0.6º, dewpoint is up to -1.0º now.
Snow continues, alternating between light and moderate, 5cm lying now.
An excellent assessment Mr Tall
-
Looking at the GFS, I'd say the milder air and sleet should hit my area around 6pm tonight, turning to rain by around 9pm
Rats, that didn't last long, hopefully I'll get a hour or so in the Snow before it's all gone.
-
some nice sized chunks of snow coming down now, only light still but I'm not complaining.
I'm sorry to hear that ThunderSnow, I hope it doesn't make it down this way
-
Light snow here in Aycliffe at the moment, just been informed that, at least, 3 local schools have been closed, and I hear part of Newcastle Airport is shut
-
Still snowing in Aycliffe, wish I could get out of work and take some snaps, it looks amazing out there
Road are very bad however, just been out on them, snow is settled on most, even the main road through Aycliffe now, very slippy conditions, getting dangerous out there.
-
Snowing, I believe the scientific term for it is, "like billy-o", in Newton Aycliffe at the moment
starting to get a covering, not deep, but if it keeps up for a few hours...
-
Still snowing in Newton Aycliffe, but as Paul said, not settling as it's too wet... rats.
-
Just had a few light snow showers here in Aycliffe this morning, started to rest on the ground then stopped, hoping for more later
-
So light you'd hardly notice it but it was snowing
Yes, I'm in Spenny, my first post too.
Fingers crossed for later
Welcome to the forum
Just had a few heavier falls of snow but it's stopped again... for now, hopefully more later
-
Very, Very light snow in Spennymoor a few minutes ago :o
-
Looks like we could see a smattering (V.Light covering) of Snow early Saturday and maybe a touch late Sunday but looking at the models, with my clumsy model watching skills, I'm not over hopeful for much more, at least for a little while... rats.
Anyone else see any glint of hope for more Snow for the North? I'd be happy to hear I'm wrong

Are we noticing the band of precip over Brittany? It is supposed to hit the Midlands tonight, traveling NE... but it's currently traveling due NNE, and is much further W on the radar than progged
Watching & hoping
