Well imagine this I live in SE Cornwall, St Germans and Saltash work in Plymouth and have not seen a single snowflake that hasn`t been accompanied by rain, i.e = sleet since January 2011 - thats 26 months of frustration! I did go up on Dartmoor for a fix a few weeks ago, and i did witness heavy snow on Salisbury plain a couple of weeks ago when i went to a 40th Birthday bash, but its just not the same as seeing it in your own backyard lol

Yet another season without snow, last time i saw a snow flake was January 2011, seems after 26 months i am going to wait another 8 or 9 months at the very least. Bitterly cold though, current temp 0.8C with a windchill factor of -9.7C

Whole thing is diving South, a non event and everyone is going to wake up disappointed i`m afraid, unless you live in north France or the Channel Islands - oh well if we get snow next winter it will be close to 36 months without a snowflake falling other than in sleet
-
Looks like there's a snow shield around plym again. To say I'm disappointed would be a understatement. Why o why o why do I do it to myself.
I feel your pain! 26 months and counting!

Looking at the current radar - all is lost for us poor sufferers in Cornwall and Devon
-
As usual we get seen off on the south coast of Cornwall and west Devon - My take on it is Kingsbridge looking OK then Portland to East Sussex, where it could really intensify, Sussex, particularly north West Sussex ,around Horsham / Crawley / Gatwick

I agree - there's still a good northwards vector to that ppn. Some surprises still in store. Wouldn't be surprised to see a wraparound effect over much of Cornwall and Devon into the early hours - then pushing up the channel coastal regions through Dorset, Hampshire, IOW. Maybe not massive amounts but at least a dusting.
Agree, here`s hoping!

Thats exactly what i am hoping for but not holding my breath - so frustrating! Temp here in Saltash is 1.5C, DP -2.5C and the wet bulb is 1.42C agonisingly close for all the ingredients, just need the precip - its showing up on radar - but after a ciggie on the front door (facing N.E) how cold? diddly!!!

I would say, at the moment, the sweet spot seems to extend from East dorest, right through the new forest/southampton to the Portsmouth area. Does that sound about right to you? Possibly pushing up just below Winchester.
Yep i would say thats looking good atm, also for Kingsbridge, Dartmouth may well get clipped

The very fact Ian has not been on to ramp up the mood.. Says all.. Hitting a brick wall..
Too long in the tooth to ramp it up, lol i am a Spurs supporter, enough said, already waiting for a fall. Not had a snowflake in anger here since Jan 2011 thats 26 months, apart from the odd blob in some sleet showers this winter, looking at the current radar prediction not looking as bad, but it keeps changing, still looking best for east Devon and Dorset eastwards

Well using this premium site and through my work i have found it very accurate over the last couple of years as to what precip will fall, and is adjusted every 5 minutes as per the rainfall radar we are looking now for a real good dumping, darker pinks for Plymouth and southern Cornwall, although lighter to the east more prolonged
-
I think east Devon and Dorset are going to cop the most

Its ok - sussed it dohhhh, too much Sunday afternoon cider lol

Easy, just click edit on your post and copy and paste the image. If that doesnt work save the image and instead click 'Use full editor'. On that new page click 'choose files' (near the bottom) then find where you saved the image and attach it.
Thanks just done that, but after adding 3 images, they dont show on my post, all it says is that my post has been edited. How do you post a jpeg o GIF from an original post please?

Hi, Don`t post here often, as i am part of the ukweatherworld team, but thought i would share this with you, i work for Network Rail so we get the meteo-group premium site rain-today which basically runs the sequence from current rainfall/snow radar and forwards its progression or estimated progresion. Pink is light snow, darker pink or red is obviously heavier, grey is sleet, blue is rain and yellow is hail - Arghhh would post the pics but this is so different from UKWW can anyone guide me through the process? Thats if anyone is interested

Paul Blight over on UKww has done an excellent synoptic summary with what we can possibly expect over the next 4 or 5 days http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/95683-synoptic-discussion-mid-january-2012-cold-or-mild/page__pid__838204#entry838204
