Hammering it down here. Got a proper drenching between the car and the front door.

Dull and damp. It has been a miserable day here in Raynes Park.

Morning all. It's surprisingly pleasant in south west London this morning, blue sky and breezy. I was expecting a drowning on the way to work. Looks like a well timed lull before more wind and rain later.

This afternoon's walk along the river to Kingston greeted us with the feathered river dwellers paddling around on the bank quite unaware that the river had now breached the edge in places.
Wow that's high. I know that stretch well and haven't seen it like that before.
Heading back to the UK in a couple days after 6 weeks away in the sun (sorry ) in South America. Think it is going to be a bit of a shock. Apparently the garden is soggy and full of debris from the various storms.

The shield has been breached, with the first few flakes making their way through.

Snow in Raynes Park. Light but settling nicely. Wasn't expecting this and a great start to winter!

Folks
I have to say I did not see a single snow flake falling over the entire drive from Bordeaux to Lewisham,. Lots and lots of rain even in Kent I only saw rain.
Cheers

to trains, no buses, no tube London had over 6 inches
Yeah I don't hold out much hope. I can probably get to the airport as it isn't far from here (SW london) but I'm not sure there is any point.
Oh well, I may as well enjoy the snow. It's amazing, just how I remember it from when I was a kid in the '80s

Usually I would be dancing around like a mad man after an event like this. However, I'm meant to be flying to south america from heathrow at 7 this evening. Talk about bad timing
