Rainy and grey in Bristol. Slightly chilly but the flat is 19 degrees so not uncomfortably so.
-
12 degrees inside, though I'm considering arguing for it to be 14. Also no, I use the heater in my car when it's cold. I have an 03 ford KA, so I don't think it would actually turn on if I didn't use the heater.
-
Does the heater in the car count? If so then yes, I've used it for the last two days. The boyfriend is still adamant that the heating in the flat isn't going on until it hits 12 degrees. Up until then, it's thermals all the way.
-
My OH and I tried the tea light convection heater. It seems that our rooms are slightly too big for it to make much difference. Though it is good for putting underneath the clothes horse to help dry out towels and bulky stuff, as I have no way of drying clothes outside being in a top flat.
-
It's not on here yet. I've just moved into a 1 bed flat with my OH so can control the heating myself. I was in a shared house before and didn't have complete control, though I did go around adjusting all the radiaters. When the sun is shining the flat isn't too bad, usuallly hovers between 15-16 degrees, and goes to 17 when we cook dinner. The thermals and extra jumpers have been out for about a month now.

snowing lightly in Filton, Bristol. Yay
-
Woke up to find my car completely covered again and the pavements. Although my road had just about stopped being an ice rink and now I have to go through all of that again! It's a good thing we have a grit bin right next to us!
-
Snowing lightly in Bristol and I'm sat in an empty betting shop cos all the English racing has been abandoned.
-
I didn't realise it had started snowing here again!
-
Yay! Haydock and Taunton race meetings have been abandoned so I don't have to put those papers up tomorrow morning. And it'll be quiet in work. Yay for snow
-
It's getting rather blowy out there.
-
There should be a big line of cars outside my window at this time in the morning, but there is absolutely nothing! A tiny bit lighter than it was half an hour ago but still pretty heavy.
-
My friend has just told me that her road hasn't been gritted, and whilst it's not a main road it does access a hospital. She's had to ditch her car cos of no traction. I think Bristol are being very stingy with the grit.
-
Hey guys anyone know how the roads are in Filton/stoke Gifford? Going to try venture to work if safe to do so.
Time to measure how much snow outside...looks a lot
By the Filton police station the roads are passible, and quieter than they should be at this time. Past the big filton roundabout I wouldn't know.

Hi - do u know if Haldon hill outside Exeter is snowed up or clear?
That hill is a pain to drive up normally let alone when it's affected by snow. Then again I do only have a Ka.
-
Morning all! Woke up to a bright orange glow from the window
-
Ok I lied, I'll probably be on here all day. But I can also confirm some solitary flakes Iin the henleaze area of bristol.

Not everyone sabrina, would never see me being downbeat whilst the chance for snow is there. The chances opf snow have been there consistently since the cold spell began, five days ago IMBY. The chances look like remaining into the beginning of next week too.
Ok, I'm generalising but there were still some who believed it would fizzle out. It's going to be so hard not to look at the MetO on my phone whilst at work tomorrow.
-
If you could put your location in your profile Brad, then we will have a better idea! I like how everyone was downbeat last night, saying it wouldn't happen, and now look at you!
-
As I'll be in work all day tomorrow I won't be able to weather watch as much which is good, but I have Friday off so i can watch it all unfold!

Hi everyone, new on here.
Like the post above mentioning December 1981, it was similar to 2010, very cold with lots of Snow events but followed by a milder second half to winter.
The winters back in the 70s and 80s that had long major Snow events never really got going until after Christmas.
This is something I always look for now days.
Hi and welcome to the forum As this was two pages back you might have been asked this but could you please put your location on the side Have fun and enjoy the rollercoaster.

I have a neighbour who takes it upon herself to clear everybodys paths before we even get up as she thinks its dangerous ...?im going to tell her to clear after its frozen thats dangerous.
Also i just wanted to tell someone one of my neighbours has put their christmas decs uo..thought my eyes were playing tricks..remind me what month are we in ?. Rant over.
Our neighbours put their decs up about a week ago. It wouldn't be as bad if they were actually nice lights, but they're not. I had to clean ice off my car on Sunday so it looks like we're slowly getting somewhere though this rain is a bit depressing.

Gosh! After watching the Meto forcast yesterday and seeing nothing for us I didn't expect anything.
Starting to settle on roofs here.
