Th good old web camera at Huntly that never fails to give us an idea of the road conditions in the area

Snow easing off up here in Banff now. We have had about 1 1/2inches and I believe it is more down in Fyvie at the mo.

My late grandfather lost a number of his friends in this Lifeboat Disaster.
From what I heard in the family, my grandfather was one of the lifeboat
crew members, but was away that week fishing, and came home
to hear of the disaster.

While out doing my job this afternoon, I happened to notice a formation of clouds
sitting over Fochabers in Morayshire, which I managed to find a picture on internet
as Mammatus.
I am very much a beginner with weather, so could someone else in layman terms
to me, what I seeing weather wise at that time in the area please

Last time I saw Mardale, there wasnt any water in it!!

The last time I saw Stromboli doing anything, it was smoking, with a warning she was going to erupt
any day. But I have to admit, I am going back 30 years ago, when I was on school cruise, and we
were just off shore watching it all. Think that was when my interest started in volcanoes!!!!!!!!!!!

Alovely sunny winter morning here up in Banff.
Temp is currently at 3.6c and we still have alot of snow around us.
