  1. The best I can find for snow last reported in Sydney was in the 1830's.Infact the article states they have experienced four of the hottest Summers of late?Mind my research skills are not #1 :o
  2. One was under the misguided belief that you were all far too pre-occupied with things that are of no importance -P. Collinson CBE
  3. Point well made Nick. I quoted you as the last 'JP' reference although the point wasn't made at you but an earlier post. The point I think I failed to make well was on NW the JP element(by definition) may have an awareness of the climate and should be allowed to have a......as you say tongue in cheek take on it too without attempts to patronise them. Thanks Nick.
  4. Top line:Again folk seem to mistake Joe.P. for being moronic........Iran-India no climatical connection I just used an example of a place on Earth that's unlikely to see snow.I thought most of us on here were JP..... I worry about those who think they're not.
  5. Hope you do it's a fascinating subject. :o
  6. As opposed to hyperphoon -sounds like an overy active forum leader
  7. Sorry I didn't put that well...I was refering to documented fossil seabed as found in Whitby(although obviously different era)Think the thunderstorms might have been irrelevant compared to the odd beastie you may have encountered.
  8. There must be fossil evidence of the smaller more 'seasonal' aspects of what the climate was like then,as opposed to long term trends.A typhoon/hurricane(he he the could've started out as one then been re-named on their way around the globe)always leaves some mark on the seabed as it approaches landfall-one presumes these events would be documented.
  9. love gardenins looking forward to pics mark
  10. cold and clear above...fresh wind and can see cloud running down the Pennines
  11. Presumptuous to think that way as many people may be a bit more read than they let on,however not so longwinded as some.If it opens the door to a fair debate though it will indeed be a positive thing.Joe P
  12. Or indeed are relatively short term rises in temp(debateable) or a run of warm summers.Point taken though MP
  13. Yes but if they have to start gritting the streets of ..Say New Dehli...By your arguement that would be seen as a result of warming???
  14. Agreed, but I've heard an awfull lot against GW too.................I'm an undecided.
  15. yep..........thinking about it you're quite correct....Cheers BF
  16. There is no certainty for or against GW (hence debate)however I don't believe events such as this in Iran could be described as a warming signal............or could it?
  17. D'yer know I thought that but thought I'd get eaten alive!Day after tommorow stuff
  18. My Grandad(a Farmer)used to say he could smell the ozone.Maybe it's just my senses being affected too coz I too smell thunder.Odd but not scientific
