Pelting it down in Bristol, having just gone for a walk I think this outdoes 2010 in regards the snowfall! Really deep in places!

You know things are looking good when Steve Murr is posting in the south west thread.
Hoping Bristol can get 10 cm + Come on!!

Its bitter out there, to see powder snow blowing around on the 1st March is quite something.

ours did too! the condensation pipe had frozen up (we didn't lag it, being in tropical Bournemouth). I had to use a combination of a hairdryer (leaning out the bedroom window) and hot kettle to the ice in the pipes. Seems to be working now....
update, it appears it was exactly the same thing here, pipe had frozen, the like of which we have never seen before!! Heating back on. Can sit back and enjoy some radar watching.

The British Gas phone number appears to be down as well! Luckily we have managed to get someone else over to have a look!!

I dunno about anybody else, but once this is all done with, i'm going to get terrible withdrawals! It happens during plumes/thunderstorms for me as well. Despite getting nailed, I long for it to carry on and on.
Im not sure what I am going to do with myself when its all over!

Nope. Watching on BT sport. 1-1
The ref is the 'star' of the show abely supported by the VAR which is a joke by the way!
Models - popped into mad thread. Latest faxes dont look great for North of our SW region. I've a horrible feeling Bristol area may only see scraps. Seems a consensus that it may stay more south - openly imby comment i know
Off topic but VAR is not fit for purpose - hoping this game puts and end to it!!

Great forecast from Ian F hopefully that will settle some nerves in here.

Good forecast but
It is 36 hours to kick off - anything could happen. A slight westward correction would see many of us receiving 'the scraps'.
Yes, still times for upgrades /downgrades.
The fact it is realistically our last chance of the winter for meaningful snow makes it even more nerve racking!

We've not done that for a while to be honest, it's a bit of a pc/phone performance killer, especially on less powerful ones as they struggle to draw the flakes.
Thought that might be the case, think it did use to cause some issues on my old laptop!

Loving the festive theme, looks great!
Any chance we could possibly get some snow falling? (think we have had that in some previous years)
Anyway good job!
-
Fingers crossed Bristol snow posse!
Had a heavy sleet/snow shower on the way home from work which i think is more than I saw the whole of last winter!

Thanks for the updates Chino and all the others who make such great contributions to this thread.
Potentially at least we have some interesting model viewing coming up as we head into the new year.
All these xmas films has made me want my snow fix more than ever
Merry Christmas everyone

Delighted to finally get some snow even falling let alone settling here in the southeast. I think this may be a practise for things to come in the west next week.
Thanks, enjoy your snow and hopefully we can join in next time. Feb could be a quite a month judging by the various positive signals for blocking to the north. Looking at the charts now compared to a few weeks ago the transformation really has been incredible.
Some of the output is reminding me of Dec 2010, okay thats a ramp and a half but seeing the snow fall today has wetted by appetite for more

Latest NAE is a lot more promising than the 12z for this area, has given be a bit of hope afterall Shows that this is not set in stone!!
I want me some snow

Thanks for updating us on Xmas day Chino, I really look forward to these updates
Merry Christmas

Thanks for the hard work you have put into this forecast Rjs and Bftp. A really interesting read and good luck with it.
Being a paid up member of the Cold brigade I would be most happy if things pan out as you are suggesting.

Heavy snow and we have a good covering already! Chasing snow across the models over the last few months and we finally got there, lol
