  1. I'm getting really cheesed off with this massive snow event for EA" talk we haven't actually had one in Norfolk yet, ok we had some snow it didn't stick around for more than a few hours tho and was only 1cm at best!

tbh if this is the best we can manage when huge chunks of the UK are getting whacked then pfffft to snow anymore. Personally I will be gobsmacked if we get any snow and even more if it settles charts, forecasts etc again pfffft going on the current record I predict no snow for Norfolk now at all.

(lets try some reverse psch eh)

My sentiments exactly .... if we were unaware of what was happening in some parts of the country, this would has been an ordinary February week here, nothing especially cold either. I understand the Norfolk snow shield is being reinforced as we speak

  2. I'm watching the showers coming down the east coast...maybe they will bring some snow to Norfolk and parts of Suffolk later today...

Hi Paul - I also looking at those showers - I really hope I get to see at least something. On current form though they are bound to turn east just before hitting Norfolk. As for Sunday and Monday/ Tuesday events, the met office warnings (albeit form yesterday) both exclude Norfolk .... I wait to see the updated warnings... but not holding my breath. It is a beautiful gloriously sunny day outside with not a speck of snow in site ...just your average February here, though on the cold side.

  3. Surface temps means nothing im afraid.

I've seen snow with temps of 1C recently but after xmas I had rain with -1C. The reason for the differences in our region is locations such as mine and E Midlands have upper temps around -4C whereas London/SE are 0C.

Still on the postive side the colder air will move SE later and there is a chance of a major snow event on Monday. Current fax charts have the LP centred over Belgium at +96 so we need to keep an eye on this to see where the snowline will be and the N extent of the snow. Someone could get a right hammering next week!!

Hello TEITS - glad to see you got your snow! Do you think there is the remotest possibility of Norwich receiving anything at all, given the current models for the short / medium term??

  4. I'm finding it difficult to believe I'm down in the tropical area of south Devon at the moment- it's snowing and settling again in Exeter!

Hi TWS. Bet you're glad you not back up here in Norwich.... we have been so unlucky! Nothing on the ground at all. Had 3 cms on Monday - which was washed away Monday night and 1cm this morning which melted by 11. I have already givenup on getting anythig tonight. Do you think we may be better placed up here next week? Cheers....
