I take it reading is not one of your strong points?
Highest recorded gust so far has been 108.8knots at 122m AMSL, but this probably translates to about 95-100knots at ground level. Ike has been upgraded to cat 3 which means at least 100knot sustained winds.
Read the last coupole of pages of this thread for more info. Wind is not the issue, water and the storm surge will be the killer. and I am not sure what you mean by "worse" than katrina ... worse in what way?
Ah, thanks and cheers for advice also i meant will it be more destructive and more powerful.

Sorry if this has already been said but has Hurricane ike had a maximum predicted wind speed? also will it be as bad as Katrina????

Its Amazing how such a tiny amount of snow left on a mountain can attract so much attention  guys stop bugging firefly over a few patches and wait for the real snow in a few months time  but it is cool how these patches can survive the whole summer and yeah cheers for the updates.
What would make the perfect winter

I've given this one some thought and the perfect winter for me would be temps in the minuses all through winter even in the day with snow but in a 1 week period then it pauses for 1 week then starts again. This snow lasting all winter but with a nice topping to make it deeper every so often with nice frosty nights. I would like north west england to be hit the hardest because we hardly get anything whilst the east coast and scotland tan it all up to there knees
