  1. Des Moines next in the firing line as the CAPE transfers eastwards, already there's 3x Tornado warned storms tracking NE to the SW of the city.
  2. What a view from Brett Adair with multiple vortices crossing the road ahead of the chaser convoy.
  3. Brett Adair, near Minden Iowa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB7Qg16-iKM
  4. 32 Tornado reports so-far, I tuned in to Ryans stream not expecting to be seeing anything until at least midnight UK time based on yesterday's model runs, the intensity of this outbreak is quite unexpected but fortunately many in those parts of the States were already prepping for tomorrow's event.
  5. The newly formed wedge heading to Waterloo, NE is HUGE easily over a mile and then some in diameter, with a well-defined debris ball on the doppler.
  6. And another... that's about 11 i've counted so far today, and the max risk is still a few hours away.
  7. Lincoln, NB the first major populated area that is looking dire with regards to rotation heading into town.
  8. Crazy to think today's Tornado potential is still lesser than tomorrow's upgraded 40% risk.
  9. Mile-wide wedges being reported in Nebraska, Texas, and confirmed on Jake Heitman's stream (north of Grand Island).
  10. A chilly start to the morning in Buxton as the temperature overnight dropped down to -0.4'c and DCC were proactive in laying some grit down on the main roads before sunrise in anticipation of potential ice, I was hearing the 'clinks' against the car and it wasn't until the ice-warning came on the dashboard that I put two+two together. Currently at 9.9'c although it's still feeling bitterly cold out there.
  11. It turned out okay in the end, still cool & breezy with some light showers across the Eastern Moors when I was having a short wander around the Bronze-Age relics at Barbrook but this Western side of the Peak District has gotten more of the sunshine for the day.
  12. A bit cloudier than forecast but at least it's remaining dry this side of the Pennines for the next few days, although it's now back to feeling bitterly cold under the overcast skies in the NEly wind. Hoping that some-time over the next few weeks the first of the Spanish Plume's brings some warmer temps and thunderstorm potential.
  13. Eejits were spotted walking out across the active lava-field and recent lava flows today as caught on Isak's livestream (2:13:10) The mind just boggles.
