Hi everyone
I'm always reading this thread hopeful we may see some snow here in Great Wakering. Usually being so close to the coast we just get sleet/rain.
Looks like we may actually get some snow from tomorrow.
Surrounded by fields and with strong winds forecast im going to talk a walk up the high street to get a few bits. I remember the winter from when i was a teen massive snow drifts and Wakering completely cut off lol.

Quick question....

Not sure if here in Great Wakering we are meant to have rain.. sleet or snow lol.

I just cannot believe that once again we have missed out.

God it feels cold out there, i hope the poor pony that lives on the bit of land near where i am is going to be ok. I don't very often see anyone tending to him and i had a quick look tonight when i took him some carrots but he doesn't have hardly any straw in his house. (and i say house in the loosest possible term)
I'll have to check on him in the morning.

Thanks everyone, i am supposed to be picking her up around 11ish. I will talk to her when she gets in from work but i think if she does go she will have to come home earlier than that.

Just wondered what time this is supposed to start roughly for where i am. I've got to pick my Daughter up from her friends later on tonight and i am beginning to wonder if i should even let her go?

Last night when i popped on here it seemed almost a dead cert that we would get snow where i am.
Now i have no idea what to expect, some sites show snow, others sleet.
My OH is due back at work in Portsmouth on Sunday night and with the snow forecast he was thinking about heading back tomorrow. Now we don't know what he should do.

I have no idea what the wind speed is here in Great Wakering in Essex, but the gusts are terrible. 2 fence panels gone, table and chair cover blown off (no idea where it is)

I just looked at the weather for where i live on the Met Office site and it says heavy snow at 18.00 today
Somehow i think that could well be wrong
-
I really can't see sleet/rain personally but could be wrong. Have you not had much today? We're right on East Beach so catching the edge and thats been pretty much non stop. Enough to stop buses coming out to Shoebury this evening according to the 2 drivers I spoke to so they are obviously expecting more. Everything is still heading in for this are though and we are still under a severe weather warning until midnight tomorrow, so more to come yet.
It's been the same here in Great Wakering, I think maybe we have been lucky!!
-
Yep, heaviest of the day so far. Big flakes and lots of em.
Missed us!!!

Morning,
A teeny weeny amount here Great Wakering, Essex. Couldn't even call it a dusting really.
Hope we get some today but i am not expecting any, i think it could well end up too warm to snow.
Typical really, i missed the last lot just before Christmas as i was stuck in Charles de Gaulle airport unable to get home.

Morning everyone.
Wow, i wasn't expecting that last night. When i went to bed there had been a lot of melting which had become sheet ice. Woke up and we are back to square one lol.
Still snowing ever so lightly here in Great Wakering.
